One is cream, one is wax.

Cream imparts more pigment and does so strongly, since it can impregnate the leather. Cream at most polishes to a matt finish.

Wax is less pigment and lies atop the leather, so colour isn't that permanent and can be removed easily when needed. Wax also improves the water resistance of the shoe and can polish until mirror shine. Only issue is there maybe cracking issue if too thick at the creases.

I'm personally shifting to creams myself in order to play around with patination and colour variation. But YMMV.

As mentioned, topmost image is cream bottom one is wax.

Cream is more important than wax if you are looking for a product to take care of your shoes. Wax simply makes the shoe more aesthetically pleasing, but used without cream, will spoil your leather.

I personally use saphir renovateur more regularly for the removal of dust as well as taking off previous layers of wax. After which i will put on the creams and waxes. Creams to moisturize and waxes to shine. Tools to help you make your job easier includes welt brushes and horsehair brushes which you can buff in between steps.

Mine is a squeaking noise that comes from the sole at the vamp area. I can feel something rubbing at the ball of my feet when I flex my shoe.

I did hear from some of the guys about their Edetal shoes having a squeaking issue they did manage to get it fixed though I'm not sure how.

Try asking them to do a resole or sorts; the problem may lay in between the insole and outsole!

Ed Et Al @ Millenia Walk does resoling. IIRC, Ed charges $150-$180 for that. But however, you can actually impede the deterioration progress by applying topy/vibram. Do rotate your shoes after each wear and insert trees to maintain the size of the shoes' last so as to get better mileage.

Last I was there, they mentioned resoling only for their own shoes.

They can also re-sole handwelt soles, more expensive.

For St. Crispin's, they have online boutique... you can try the sizing first (which is what trunk show is meant for), and buy from their online boutique, or through Leong T. boutique, or perhaps do single MTO with Skotiebogalet (no additional surcharge)

For koji's, I'm believe there's MTM and bespoke choices. However, I'm not sure of the pricing yet.

If your intention is bespoke for either brand anyways, then I would suggest doing your research now on which brand would probably better deliver a product that appeals to you more e.g. price, leather choices, signature features etc. Factoring your personal overseas travel plans could also be relevant in terms of likelihood of accessing these brands beyond the upcoming trunk shows.

No reason not to visit both trunk shows regardless.. For one, there lies a jerkish shopping opportunity for 1 of the brands.

Perhaps you'll end up getting a pair each and can give us a nice review on the experience and product from each brand in the near future!
