Nice but for me I wouldn't use opt for shell for monks. Cos it requires frequent bending of the straps when removing and wearing the shoes which will cause lots of wrinkles on the harder shell as compared to calf leather.

Nonetheless blue is my choice for my next pair of blue monks, Museum blue!!

I was eying for the full strap loafer right from start, but to no avail. :(

Any interest in this shoe in a blue museum calf? I am willing to organize a GMTO directly or through Skoaktiebolaget. 5 pax needed.

In which last ?
I'd be fine with Rain / Inca / Simpson.
If you have found 4 guys let me know, I'll be fine with being No. 5
But chill k, preferably some time next month

Thanks and noted. I like to try for a chiselled simpson. The current rain last has a heel slippage issue due to a too generous heel and instep and doing it on a monkstrap can be risky. A snug fit on a monkstrap is quite preferable and some people now wear it loafer style with the top unbuckle.

I propose a simpson last, blue museum calf, green lining. Single leather sole which makes for easy topying locally, if one so wishes.

Would be nice we can get enough people to make it a one off Singapore GMTO. But do note MTOs are not returnable.

Hopefully the new retailer here doesn't pull an under armour. Those of you who bought under armour before they arrive in our shores will know what i mean. If it happens your hopes of trying size and buying elsewhere will be dashed.

You could even try the tomir sole. I'd be totally down for it.

Pics of my Meermin Museum Calf loafers! Its difficult to see the subtle colour differences in the pic.. need proper lighting for that.

Some areas which I wasn't too pleased about:

You can see that the edge is still raw.

It's probably just me but for the price range, I would have expected a wee bit more in terms of finishing.
No issues with fit. Downsizing 0.5 from my LM New Rey last was the right choice.
In the process of breaking in and its not as arduous as breaking into a pair EEAs.

Agree with arc, that the quality is lacking here.
My pair of Meermin balmoral boots is ok. But i can tell that the finishing is not as nice as Carmina's and the quality of the leather is also a tad below.

Well no choice then, you can use cream then wax to fill up the raw leather.

Meermins is considered lower end of the goodyear welted types of dress shoes. With the low price and place of manufacture, their QA is lower. When you try other better brands like Carmina, you will easily notice the difference in quality of finishing and leather used.

My Meermins also have defects which was also brushed off by their customer service.
There is deep creasing of leather only on the left pair of the shoe when I received it.
Also after getting some parts of the shoes wet while walking after the rain has stopped, a part of the shoe at edge of the toe box leather joint near the sole is permanently darkened. This darkened patch does not go away although other parts of the shoes which were darker when wet changed back to normal shade of brown after drying up.

That's bad... I've got a dent on the tip of my loafers as well. Nothing much to be done about that...

It's really sad knowing that they could have been so much better if they had cared more.

Anyway... there's plenty of better shoes out there for me to spend my moolah on!
