Working Shoe for Young Exec

Bought 9.5 (probably US) for my army boots, but wearing a UK 7 for my leather shoes

My army boots is size 285(old leather type) which i tink is eur44? Leather shoes depend but mostly aldo eur44. But sneakers smaller size.

US 9.5 wearing what type of shoes? With or without socks? Don't use size of sneakers or running shoes, as one usually will be wearing a bigger size for these shoes due to socks. Personally, I find the best reference using boat shoes or driving moccasin, where one usually wear without socks.

For example, I wear euro size 44 moccasin, US 10W boat shoes. The equivalent UK size is 9.5F.

Despite some hiccups like being hit with GST and some "handling charge" by DHL when shoes arrived at my doorstep, having to return some pairs due to wrong size (pack the shoes myself at a Singpost branch) etc, I continue to buy.

Hey thinkalot28, can tell me more about your experience with returning shoes due to wrong size? How much did you pay for shipping, and how long did the exchanged pair take to come? If still wrong then how? Can exchange again?

And why was there a handling charge by DHL? Did you have to pay for that in the end?

As for sneaker/dress shoe sizes, I usually wear US size 9.5/10 sneakers, but wear UK size 6.5/7 dress shoes. But that's also partly because dress shoe sizes have to be fitting, while I prefer my sneakers to be a bit loose.

hey guys, wonder how many of you actually added rubber on the soles of your leather shoe for anti slip and more durability?

im planning to get a new pair of leather shoes so im thinking of protecting it from day 1.

i always have the problem of wearing out a hole at the center of the sole (usually right) and will wear out my socks and trap water on rainy days.

appreciate your help!

I cant remember exactly how much I paid for the shipping charges to return the shoes (3 pairs) but it should be close to S$100. Singpost's charges are exorbitant and that is not even the fastest. Herringshoes will send out the new pairs as soon as they received the returned ones. They did not charge shipping for these. I did not get the sizes wrong from then now so the hassle of returning the first order was at least worth it.

I am not sure about the handling charge but it seems to be for weekend deliveries. Yes I paid (S$10), if not the DHL guy will not release the shoes to me. I ordered on a Friday and expect the shoes from Monday onwards but it came on Sunday! i was impressed.

Anyone planning to order from Herringshoes soon or in the midst of one?

If you were to compare shipping charges by australia post office, probably you will think SG postage cost is cheap. A 500g parcel to UK registered is around $60 SGD...

Hey Guys, to clear your doubts in handling charge, it is a upfront charge for paying GST on your behalf. Pretty common for courier services because they paid up-front the GST charges. Singapore out-going parcels rates has never been attractive but no choice. Incoming rates are in-fact cheaper..
