I was told by Mirrco that if I want to paste Vibram rubber soles it would only be the front. Pasting on the heel will raise the shoe higher and thus causing it to look disproportional and discomfort when wearing.

Has anyone put the rubber sole on the heel portion for their dress shoes?

You could try taps on the heels. Never tried but saw before.

Just went to centrepoint Robinsons but unfortunately they don't have stock for my size! But I'm really in love with the Loakes shoes. Anyone can give a detailed review on their shoes, esp with regards to comfort?

How do they compare to the Herring shoes?

Comfort level will not be as everyone feet differs. My loake shoes were part of my rotation of work shoes. At the price point, I would say the 1880 are value for money when you can get them at a sale.

santoni have various lines santoni fam (2 colors) and regular line. Probably the reason why you like Santoni more than Church is because Church is more conservative in design.

You could try Bruno Magli

anyone here knows of a place where u can find a good selection of working shoes
just a normal pair, so I'm not really particular of the branding.

specifically those with "antiquing" colors, or maybe those burgundy/maroon colors.
will those chain departmental stores(bhg, metro... etc) carry them?

Assuming you have no budget, check out Kevin Seah. They recently became the sole distributor in Singapore for Gaziano & Girling aka G&G.

Fantastic, FANTASTIC shoes I tell you. Totally salivated when I saw them and the temptation to lick the shoes were so great.

Heels are easy to replace. About $20 for a pair.
Soles, not so.

You can get heel taps installed for $4 a pair and will "protect" the heels.

Took the Plunge

I just took the plunge...

Loake Beauforts from herringshoes.co.uk.

Order Total: £166.25 - Have to live on chicken rice for a month now..

Question: Anyone has any experience with Herring Shoes on exchanging for a different size if the fit is slightly wrong? Care to share?

Where do you guys go and get the Vibram soles pasted? And where to get the Taps for the heels? Any cobbler will do or is there any recommended ones?
