hey morning, nono not the entire sole. just hole the size of 1-2cm near the ball of the sole.Wow, how did you wear a hole through the entire sole? How long did you wear that pair for?
Sorry for the late reply.
I cant remember exactly how much I paid for the shipping charges to return the shoes (3 pairs) but it should be close to S$100. Singpost's charges are exorbitant and that is not even the fastest. Herringshoes will send out the new pairs as soon as they received the returned ones. They did not charge shipping for these. I did not get the sizes wrong from then now so the hassle of returning the first order was at least worth it.
I am not sure about the handling charge but it seems to be for weekend deliveries. Yes I paid (S$10), if not the DHL guy will not release the shoes to me. I ordered on a Friday and expect the shoes from Monday onwards but it came on Sunday! i was impressed.
Anyone planning to order from Herringshoes soon or in the midst of one?

like the one in the picture, just that now its in the later stage (1cm big), i've put insole to slow down the opening up process and to protect my socks from getting torn and feet from getting wet

I'm considering getting a new pair of shoes too! Is it cheaper if we buy in bulk?
hey buddy, thanks for your helpful advise..How long have you worn your shoes for? If there's a hole through the sole already and water is getting in then it's probably time to get a new pair. I guess rubber soles will help slow down the wear since they get worn down first, and you can always replace them!
thx buddy, i'll be getting a new pair! The tread is worn out completely.
Get them resoled or get a new pair.
In the midst of buying one... what do you use to polish your shoes and where do you buy those stuff?

These are expensive shoes and coupled with the fact that i intend to wear them for a very long time and i am anal, i currently use Obenauf LP and Leather Oil for protection. A S$20 bottle can last a very long time! Bought it from Ho Soon Lee sofa maker in AMK.
I have no doubt about the benefits but its not easy to get a shine with Obenauf. Thats the problem i have. Or is there anyone who has experience using and can advise?
I read about Saphir products, maybe you can try also.
You won't get much shine with obenaufs. Consistency of the mixture does not seem to lend itself to it - maybe its thicker because emphasis is on protection, I dunno. Dull shine with brushing is as far as it goes.
Saphir cream, less thick in consistency, more shine.
Saphir wax will achieve the most shine. Most of my toecaps are mirror-equivalents.
