It happened to me before. Bought from Robinsons, it was some italian brand at about 100+. And you all know how I realised? When my intern boss asked me to bring an umbrella for her next block cause it was pouring (it was the day that Wendy, Hermes and Starbucks got 'ponded') and I walked into a puddle and felt water gushed in. I knew gg already.

After that, the pair became my dry day shoe.

so what did you do to your new shoes? rubber sole since day 1?

if so, any recommendations?

I am very tempted to buy another pair! but I have already bought 6! Lol.

I would go with F. Its nicer but thats me. I guess the width of your feet plays a part also.

I'm a size 2E on a branook's device. I tried G size, lots of space at the side. F was just right, probably abit tight too, but then again, the shoe at Robinsons hasn't season yet.

arctuates, do you find it weird that just the toecap is mirror-shined? For a start, I have never seen anyone else (in real life) with a mirror shine on the toecaps. I had mine close to mirror, but it felt a bit weird, so right now I got it back to "normal".

Nope, don't find it weird. Quite proud of my shoes, actually. I've had a few inquiries on where I've made them already.

Besides, it seems that almost everyone in tg pagar wears crap shoes. I don't wanna be part of that norm.

I'm trying to achieve a "semi-mirror" shine but finding it very hard.. I'm using Saphir wax and mix it with water slightly.. Btw, what do you used to polish off the wax at the final stage? I used the Saphir cloth but the loose threads gets all over the shoes

Try an old ratty t-shirt cut into strips, usually there will be no more loose fibres left. Then a quick buff with nylon (stockings) or wool.

I'm not a mirror-shine guy (mostly because I don't have the patience) but to get my semi-mirror shine, I will do a spit shine with the old cotton rags then follow up with a brisk buff with a wool strip.

Previously I used Kiwi, but it's all wax anyway.

Cover area with a layer of Kiwi, keeping in mind that more is not better. Wet your cloth with some water, and polish over the area until you feel that it's starting to get smooth. Repeat the whole process a few more times.

The first time I took about 45 minutes for a pair, and for just the toecaps.

I didn't find it weird either, but my friends pointed it out for being weird. Made me a little self conscious, so I rather it be without a mirror shine and me feeling a lot better about myself

Agreed. There's an extreme sense of satisfaction when you actually get mirror shines on the toe caps as well as the heel area.

After all, those 2 areas are the best areas to polish

Toe caps are meant to be shiny

What's everyone's views on conditioning the leather of a new shoe before wearing it in? Is it recommended or will it spoil the natural look of the shoe?

The leather looks fine out of the box - not dried out - and the purist in me is not so inclined against the idea of treating the leather with a conditioner. Would rather let the shoe get seasoned into shape naturally.

The leather's burgundy in colour. Will conditioning affect the colour in any way?

It shouldn't have any effect.
Especially since its already a dark color

i need some help! my shoe frm pedro kinda give up on me recently. need to get a new pair urgently for my work. but i'm always having problem with sizing as my feet is kinda small. i'm wearing size 6.5 for my vans. current pedro is 39 but is a little huge unless i put insole. i tried a size 39 in taka but is bigger than my current pedro shoe. where can i find smth similar to pedro design but smaller fitting?
