hey guys, any idea where can i try on rockport shoes in sg?
i've checked online and tried to call the boutique at marina square but it seems that VANS is using that number now
hi guys, anyone can recommend me decently priced shoes for working in an office environment?
As I am currently a student only and do not have much experience in these but I am thinking of trying to avoid the typical kind of leather shoes. Would be nicer if there are pictures of what is also acceptable for work so I know what to look out for when shopping for shoes.
I was told of "Attire: Office/business attire". Does this include me having to wear a tie at all times or is it sufficient to just bring along one?
many thanks![]()
hey indigo,
i didn't finish reading your reply on plal. ya. i wear a UK7 so they had and still carry alot in my size. I'd still suggest the more premium Herrings collections made by Cheaneys because for English shoes, you really pay for what you get.
Or you can save up for a little longer and get a really good pair from Carminas directly. Including shipping my 310 euro shoe costed me 520 SGD. Not one bit of regret and definitely cheaper than a pair of C & Js, and cheaper than a pair of Carminas from The Armoury.
I usually go for a pair of Dr Martens (Made in England) and you should be able to find some NOS and they last. Otherwise, I use a pair of Hudson (from overseas) but Ck Tang sells them for about $250. My Barker is reserve for some format occasion, and I being looking for a Grenson. Loake will be a good bet if you can get it less than $200.
Worst is Hush Puppies as I had sole dropping off and also another pair of casual shoes disintegrating after a few years. For Rockport, I have mixed review on their material used.
you can actually go for bespoke shoes..there is one boutique called Q MENSWEAR at telok ayer street that does it..100% bespoke..they will measure your feet and do a mould so your shoe will fit you perfectly..and u can customize your design..choose fabric and color etc..affordable price too![]()
Hi seniors, i would like to seek some advise before placing my order.
1. Will there be any free shoe-tree that comes along with any shoe i purchase during the clearance sale? E.g. the Herrings/Loakes clearance sale.
2. I am thinking of buying the Herrings Valet box from Herrings for $45. I am wondering if the $45 just consists of the box only, or all the wax and polishes inside. Is it worth buying the box? otherwise, where could i buy the shoe wax from?
3. Are we exempted from paying the vat charges? I read through the thread and most of them say yes. Just would want to confirm.
4. Should i buy the matching belts from herrings?
I did some calculations on my own. Considering the exemption from vat charges,
Shoe : $92
Herrings Valet Box : $38
Shipping - 2 Items = 25
Total = (155 x 2(Exchange rate))
= SGD$310.
Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
1. No free shoe trees for sale items, if i remember correctly. Only full price Herring Shoes
2. Pretty sure it's just the box. They provide one tin of wax, just ask them to toss in 1 or 2 more. Also there are many alternatives to purchase wax / cream from like colonnil or Saphir. Whether you need / want the valet box, is up to you.
3. VAT exempted.
4. No idea on the belts. If you need a new belt, go for it.

2. I thought i would be getting the suede protector etc. along with the box as shown in the picture. hmm.. Any idea how much the Saphir wax or cream will cost around in singapore? and when i could get those? Please advise.
