Last week I saw plenty of the misc brands just at the corner of the ecco stuff. There will always be a saleslady standing there on duty you have to ask her to move aside so you can
find your stuff. How come suddenly no more???

Its a indescript shelf hidden away and is below the waist level. Hard to find because the staff stand there and block the view. 3rd floor shoe dept.

Heng I stock up can last for a year or two

I only called them. Probably the sales girl doesn't even know what she is selling

Here is my panties mirror shine, my RSM would be proud of me. Its a very vintage C&J made for a defunt Canadian dept store, bought from edmw forummer. I had to restore the leather as it was very parched and dry. A bit of external crack. Replace the laces and replace the leather heel and vibram on top of it all as the sole is a bit chui.

This pair of shoe teach me all the maintenance steps, before them I was bo chup about leather care one.

Nice shoes. I have 2 pairs of 1880, Dorchester in the sleeker Mayfair last, and Strand in the capital last (like yours). I personally love the soft calf leather of the 1880. With the low pound-S$ exchange rate, plus u get the shoe tree FOC, u have a damn good deal!

The shoe shine kit. All you really need is 1 toothbrush, 1 brush, 1 cloth, 1 tin of cream and/or polish. The rest is buy as retail therapy.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I have no idea on the leather type. Markings all have faded hard to find any info on the shoe.

super low budget MTO from Korea. real leather upper and rubber sole. My wet weather shoe and drinking shoe. In case some spills their drinks or merlion onto shoes not so heart pain.

fake patina in toe cap area by using darker polish in front neutral polish on rest of shoe.

Nice kit.:)

Stupid as it seems, I need a better polishing cloth. What's the toothbrush for? to clean the welt?

Is there really a need to get leather conditioner if one has shoe cream?

TMK shoe cream is just leather conditioner with added color. Polish cloth is any old cotton t shirt which dun lint. My orange cloth is the same cloth used during NS, not specially bought.

Toothbrush is to apply cream or polish into the welt. Cleaning is done with the welt brush. I use the welt brush for neutral cream too as it doesn't stain the brush.

The SAF issued brush is used as cleaning dirt brush. The Kiwi professional brush is handed down by my father and gives a very quick and nice shine. The Dasco horse hair brush is used to remove away polish as it is very absorbent.

Sponge is to dampen for cleaning away dirt. Orange cloth is for spit shine polishing but I use it for anything, any color.

One wrong habit we learn from NS is to use the brush to apply Kiwi. That will ensure the floor gets spray with a fine splatter of polish. Always use the cloth to apply polish. Brush is for shining not for applying polish.

I hate fungus. Put a little bit of water to shine the shoe next morning come already. I see before some leather cream with anti fungus treatment but nv try yet.

Does the fungus grow on the upper? I've never seen that happen. I thought they would usually grow on the leather soles when water seeps into the cork filler.

Do you want to try wiping the shoe with an alcohol swab?
