AE is truly cheap for durable shoes. Gotta get a style you like though. Most of them look like old man shoes, but still better than half the local stuff. But I hate the wide heel.

AE is definitely cheaper there too.

Surprisingly for good leather shoes, they are below $100, and I must commend them for really comfortable shoes.

God know how many years of blisters Ive had with Aldo and all the other brands I thought were comfortable since the prices were higher.. just assumed...
And I have quite a bad condition of bunions on my feet, so good shoes are tough to find for myself.

Everbest in the past used to give me horrible blisters too.. that was like, 5yrs ago.. but recently they have quite a good range and worth the money spent I would say. Thus far, I have heels from them that has never given me any blisters or pain.

I highly recommend this brand!!

Everyone is rather nice here. To me, the creasing looks very wrong. 2 layers of diagonal creases - my alarm bells are ringing.

It seems grossly over-sized or the last does not fit your feet at all.

Btw, does Ed Et Al name their lasts? If so, what is this one made on?

Go to google and search for "leather shoes crease" and you can see the various kind of creases. It all depends on hard or soft leathers and how much effort one put in looking after the leather shoes. Frankly speaking, a pair of $300 leather shoes and if you can get 10 to 15 years out from it. You have done well.

Yes, we all understand that but the creases on the poster's Merlion seem to indicate that it is of a wrong fitting/size or that his feet does not suit that last. I also own a pair of Merlion and worn it close to 100 times and there are creases but not to the extent nor pattern which was shown in the picture. Also, there seem to be a lot of excess material (either due to the leather been stretch at the wrong places or it been oversize in the first place).

or it could be the way he sit in office? I have this habit, bad habit of flexing my toes to do a toe stretch every now and then and that causes creases and I will go f u c k.

Hi guys, would like to ask how is the quality for the Church's City-line shoes? I'm looking at the Paris in particular. Judging by the price, it seems to be the budget-line for Church's, and I suspect it is on par with Loake's 1880 and Allen Edmonds?

Also, I have went to the Church's branch in ION to attempt to try out the sizing. The attendant was rather unhelpful and had an unpleasant attitude. I wanted to try 2 models which caught my eye (Shannon and Paris) but the attendant said they only have the display model available. The Paris that I tried (on display) was just nice lengthwise, but width was tight. The attendant advised me against trying a bigger size as there is only 1 fitting and it would not fit anyway. However, I know from the Church's website that they have a wider fitting. Overall, bad experience there.

My Outram also creases similarly to the Merlion pic but it fits perfectly.

I doubt the poster is wearing an oversize pair of shoes. Have you ever worn an oversize pair of shoes. It is constantly slipping out and blisters you will be getting. Yes, I do have a bad habit of flexing my toes and that can create lots of creases and as the other poster said and I agreed with him. Creases shows the nature aging process. Being a_nal about creases is just going to make your life miserable. For god sake it is just a pair of leather shoes.

Well, when I meant oversize, I not saying that it is 1 or 2 sizes too big. It could be 1/2 size too large or that the last shape not suitable hence leaving lots of room at the vamp etc.

Foot shape

Foot shapes can cause pressure and stretching some parts where are no pressure on others. This can lead to creases, pain, compression and even blister formation. If a shoe bites, get rid of it. Healing of anything related to foot takes very long, because you cannot give it any rest. No shoe is worth that trouble
