which are the popular meermin models have you guys bought/ordered, be it from the classic and LM range. I am quite curious to know which are the models which we most of us are eyeing.

Would also appreciate if someone could recommend me a good first black shoe and brown shoe.

Thanks

Regards,
Daniel

Mine was a loafer on rubber sole. I think the basic oxfords are a good option.

I see. The dainite soles looks quite slippery to me imho. Seems to have little traction/friction between the ground. We will see. Most likely ordering my first pair from there, to try out the sizing.

Thanks for the reply BDC.

Why would you say that? In my experiences rubber/dainite soles have significantly better traction and is alot more durable. Leathersoles on the other hand are slightly more fragile and require greater care.

I've been through the exact same dilemma when I bought my Berluti in the pictures below.

I was in France four-ish years ago, and I spoke with the lady at Berluti and she told me that I should use wax/cream a shade lighter than the dominant colour. Shouldn't change much. I've a couple pairs and I've polished them without significant colour change.

Berluti makes nice shoes, but the problem is the last is so bloody narrow. Damn it, posting pictures of the shoes makes me feel like wearing them again.

Damn.... this pair looks freakin awesome......

Can anyone comment on the thickness of Viccel heavy winter socks please?

Is heavy winter or winter thickness comparable to the regular socks we have in emporiums, like Renoma?

For sizing of Viccel socks, should I be using metric or jp? Comparing to the exact length of my feet.

Any recommendations for suede shoes? Intending to wear them casually, and perhaps pair it with semi-formal attire like biz chinos on dress-down days.

Looking at welted ones that aren't bulbous, but relatively cheap. Thus I'm not asking much for quality. TIA.

for meermin shoes, do we pay upfront when we make the order, or only when the shoe is ready for shipping then pay?

Just discovered a rather big hole in my leather sole. It's about 1cm x 0.5cm. Looking at it, it seems like the topmost layer has gotten ripped off somehow, exposing a rough inner layer.

I'm still not sure if the sole is still waterproof, but I know if I leave it like that it will probably get worse.

Do you guys think it will work if I just put a rubber sole over it, like a vibram? Where is the best place to get it done?

Edit: added picture

Unfortunately, it will be a makeover with a new leather sole replacement. Simply putting a rubber sole over it is not going to cut it. If the shoe is branded, have the leather sole replaced. If it is just an normal one, I guess the cost does not warrant a leather sole instead a rubber one will do.

Where can I go for a leather/rubber sole replacement, and how much does it cost?

The shoes are from this Zalora sale about a year ago, Loakes 1880s for about $200. But I've only worn it for a year and in rotation with another pair, which means I only wore it for half a year effectively... that makes it quite expensive to me :( Cos I thought they would be able to last for at least a year.
