Did you compact them into the shoe?

Pushed them in as hard as I could. Its still not as good as a shoe tree. And like archangle13 mentioned. The shoetrees can always be reused even if you change shoes. So I don't think its that expensive also.

Where can I go for a leather/rubber sole replacement, and how much does it cost?

The shoes are from this Zalora sale about a year ago, Loakes 1880s for about $200. But I've only worn it for a year and in rotation with another pair, which means I only wore it for half a year effectively... that makes it quite expensive to me :( Cos I thought they would be able to last for at least a year.

:s22: Loakes shoes for $200. Last you 6 months.

Thought somebody just had a hole in his loake shoes after just less than a year??

I really depends on how you look after your shoes...my herring shoes bought almost last year is still going strong...you are suppose to rotate your shoes and not just wear one shoe..even if you buy the most expensive shoe,it would be the same thing...quality material is one thing but you need to maintain it to prolong its life...

you got to ask doody woh.. look at his post, according to him, he did rotate his shoes but still end up with a hole in the sole

I must say I found the stitching underneath on the outsole of loake shoes at robinsons scary... looks very exposed.

maybe all shoes are the same but I wouldn't know since mine are topied, i can't see the stitches anymore.

Buy Herring or Loake...if can increase the budget a bit, can consider meermin...

200 can get Herring or Loake? in sgd? seriously so cheap??

True, Herring and Loake are usually above S$300 unless under clearance sale. Even during sales their higher end range will still be above S$200.

In fact, Meermin is cheaper than Herring and Loake at retail prices

He only rotate betw 2 pairs

I would think 2 pairs is reasonable. Besides, my other pair which is just a $200 leather sole one that I bought from Taka, is still in good condition. And it's kind of like a Singapore brand: Shop-Alessandro Shoes: About us

I've worn both in about the same conditions so kinda leaning towards a shoe problem instead of environmental issues like wearing in wet weather.

Give you guys a tip off. Dylan and son having fire sales for their edetal leather shoes. Popped by their store yesterday, and it was selling at 100 bucks only. Go and have a look.

*sale till 28 aug, I didn't buy as I find them a little too narrow at the toe box for my liking. .
