No pics to show, but I also think wax gives off a better sheen than cream.

I thought shoe cream was to protect the leather and wax for shine?

For my black shoes, i use renovateur and then wax polish. No cream.

For brown shoes, i use neutral cream only. No reno and no wax polish. Always have the fear getting wrong shade of brown (whether wax or cream) will mess up the shoe colour.

Petia, any comments on what u think is the correct procedure (sequence and type of products to use)?

You need a pair of gaiters for the snow. Or employ some kids to shovel the sidewalks.

I am no authority this is just my preference.

Reno > Cream > Wax

Reno is used once in a while to remove old polish builtup / as deep nourishing on very dry leather / after washing the shoes

Cream is used either alone for "indoor shoes" or as a base layer before wax polish. Colored cream restore color to leather and nourishes at the same time. Provides a low matt shine which some people prefer.

Wax should never be used alone. Always reno or cream before waxing as it will dry out the leather. Wax protects the leather from water, scratches, hides scuffs and provides the best shine.

Dun be afraid about the "wrong" color polish change the leather color. It is quite difficult unless your leather is raw and unfinished or you use a dye.

Any color changes are only a layer on top of the actual leather color and can be stripped away with saddle soap or leather cleaner.

However if you over saturate with any shoe care product the leather will darken, color may lighten when the oil eventually drys out. But older leather turn darken due to patina cannot be reversed.

I think 1st and foremost is considering which shoe will fit u better. If u have normal feet (not too wide, narrow, hi arch etc) and usually hv no prob fitting shoes bought off internet then congrats, u have gotten the biggest issue out of the way.

Loakes cost more than meermin classic and slightly less than meermin LM. Forum reviews seem to suggest u get much better value going for Meermin LM than Loake, assuming similar design available. So i would check out the LM range

My feet width is quite small, generally fit into "E" fit. For "F" fit i will have to downsize by 1/2 inches shoe size. So you can say RTW shoe not an issue for me.

Problem for Meermin is that the LM line doesn't have a LWB available. Closest I have seen are the burgundy Wing brogue, unless I do a MTO for the LWB. But doing that will drive a pair to 360 euros which is not worth it anymore.....
I do have an eye for one of the LM line model. But need to save up for it. Probably getting second half of the year

novena velocity also have a few adventure shops.

campers corner at waterloo got quite a selection.

sheares marketing also have a few types of socks.

haven't been to the army market at beach road but can try.

my timbreland boots is cui, suede tan color when I bought them last feb, for 180 euros and I used them only in winter time or rainy days, how do i maintain the color?

I used the spray protector often, the suede brush and the eraser but the color of my boots look really bad

Get a MTO 2k suede boots rough it in rain and snow and it will look bad.

Suede easer will not restore it to like brand new.

Don't get in Europe, I got mine 2 yrs ago in March at the outlet. Winter stuff super cheap comes spring in states.
