Nice looking pair. Notice u also have that diagonal crease on your left shoe although it's much less obvious than mine.

I asked the staff on this. Both the GY and kempt uses calf leather from European tanneries but of different grade.Does anyone know the difference between the usual and Kempt collection? Is it just the GY welting vs blake? Or is the leather also different?
Thanks.
Hmm... that's part of the enjoyment of owning a good pair of shoes together with the slow patina built up instead of faux painted on patina right?
I'll try the method on army boots though![]()

What I didn't ask but suspect, is that the lining and sole for Kempt may not be leather or else probably also of lower grade leather.
Shoes in the kempt collection are all based on the same last, which is in turn is a last used for many of their GY collection shoes.
can black leather shoes have slow patina built up?
How long did you have to wait for your Merlion II?Got me a pair of Merlion II from Ed et Al recently. Took over a week to be done for stretching because they have a load of MMOs.
Thinking of getting me a few pairs of Woodlore Cedar Shoe Trees from Amazon. Anyone can advice on the sizing for Ed Et Al shoes? I wear a 45/46

I think size 45/46 would be around US12?
I see.. I wear size 43 and that translates to about a US9.5/10, which is why I estimate your 45/46 to be US12.I got it off the shelf but sent it for stretching at fifty five, took over a week for them to be done.
I read that the size is different from Ed et Al shoes so was wondering whether could get advice for those who have Woodlore shoe trees and Ed et Al shoes.
That would be really helpful both for understanding sizing n for just pure enjoyment of looking at diff shoes
Took 2 quick shots for you.

Thanks bro! Nice collection.
does look like that hiro and capital lasts are quite similar. Should be confident to order meermin hiro last shoes now.. Hehe.
Btw, wat attire do u usually wear ur boots with? Do u pull it off in office wear?
Also, how do u rate the comfort, leather quality and construction of the loake 1880 vs meermin classic? Since u own both.
Sorry for barrage of questions and TIA!
I also have a pair of the mounbatten in the same color, but I only wear it 1-2times a month on Fridays. Ask u. Does your laces wear off fast? My laces are like quite "chui" liaoz, don't know is it because I pull too tight causing it to rub on the hooks. Making me thinking if I should buy the same laces from edetal again, or find other more durable sources...
