came across this on the net

Leather sole protection - after and before

newleathersole2.jpg

this looks like a sole replacement rather than a "protector".
i suspect it was a half sole replacement in this case

To order Shoe Trees, please see the following conditions. If you are agreeable, PM me with items URL and text me to save your phone number at 83229075. Ask MO status.

- Check the size you want and don't ask me on the sizing. Cause I don't want to be responsible if the size I tell you becomes unsuitable when the actual item arrives.
- If you place order with me and decides to back out, please still pay and collect the shoe tree then find other buyer for it. Don't expect me to help to find a buyer to take over your item.
- Collection will only at my convenience as I am not making a profit for this.
- Items take about 2-3 weeks to ship over to Singapore by UPS

This is another MO to collect in the west.

Collection either at Yew Tee/Raffles station.
Courier with additional charges, min. $6.

USD 125 for FREE shipping! Accept other items that are AmazonGlobal Eligible.

Some wooden shoe trees option from Amazon:

~USD 20-30 Amazon.com: Woodlore Cedar Shoe Tree

just want to check, what kind of soles do you guys go for? there are leather sole, half-leather half rubber sole, full rubber. personally i find those half half kind wears and spoil easier than others. any recommendations on which brand is more lasting? i find clarks only last for 3 years of daily wear.

3 years of daily wear?

I think they are mighty durable based on your usage.

When i used to travel alot for work, always lace ups oxfords in western countries and loafers in Asia, as there are more times where I have had to remove my footwear. I also generally use loafers on flights (airport security and comfort onboard).

The preference generally would also depend on the entire outfit or what both workplace and common sense dictates.

I see no need to prefer one over the other without context.

Were u the one who bought an edetal that had to MTO your size but no upcharge? If it was you, thought from that experience would have deduced they would not likely carry RTW of your size, unless sample sale then got chance of uncollected MTO of your size.
