Going to buy a pair of Allen Edmonds online, too lazy to go try for size.

Anyone care to comment on the size of the brand? Would an US size 8D fit as expected? Is there anything else I should be aware?

What are u basing 8D from? You gotta size down for AE, and their 5 last is really long.

If you're really 8D in RW and not 8E as what the shops normally sell in SG. Your choice is bet 8D, 8E or 8.5D.

I would probably suggest 8E just in case. I'm 8.5D in AE 5 last and 8E for RW Moc toe

Yea, confirmed Red Wing 8012 8D... Had to order through my friend in the distro to get the D from Suntec. I just checked my boots, 2 pairs of RW all 8D

Hmm.. okay bro.. thanks for your advice.. I think I'm going to bet on 8D... I still have a finger's space on all my 8D dress shoes.. if I go 8E, chances are it might come out too wide with more headroom which will cause a lot of wriggling.. 8.5D I prolly sure can't fit... simple too big.. my feet is not narrow at the top so I'll end up with a lot of room for my toes..

I was seriously considering a 7.5E or 7.5EE but too bad Amazon doesn't carry that size for Bourbon color Strand.. I'd buy from AE site.. but I have 400 bucks of gift card which I need to use...

Oh well, at most send it back..

Well, I'll normally try for bigger width since there's more options to make it fit than wearing a size smaller shoe (generally means you need to stretch them out by a bigger shoe tree or using alcohol to loosen up the leather for it to stretch with a shoe stretcher [last resort option; not recommended unless you willing to throw the shoes away])

Shoe's proportion might not look nice after a forced stretch normally or with wrinkles at the wrong place. If difference is lesser than half size then maybe the leather will seasoned to your size.

Unfortunately the 5 last is quite tricky for some people but I have no issues going with my brannock sizing which is 8.5D. Surprisingly, I had issues with last 7 though for their MacNeil as the toe box was not as generous as I thought due to the sharper converging toe when I sized down to 8D. Not sure if that helps

Very sound guide here. Covers most types of dress shoes and boots.
I've never tried coconut oil yet but have Lexol, Saphir, VSC and Obenauf.
Lexol and Saphir would be the most conservative option I guess. Lots of places selling Saphir in SG although might be overkill for shoes below sgd$300 mark... Lexol can get from Amazon. I got 2 liters of it still unused

I am a US9 in rockport and in the 5 last I am a 9E. I have wide feet but low instep fyi.

5 last is very tricky becoz it is narrow and long, some people size down half a size and 1 width wider for 5 last compared to other AE lasts.

<500 is more than enough I suppose if you're not high street designer label crazy.

I bought the walnut brogue manistee belt from AE To match the walnut strands but leather quality wasn't great for the price paid and the look that it turns out was very busy with all the broguings on my shoes as well as my belt.

Hence, I would recommend Equus Belt from UK. You can request for leather swaps for free, (yes! no shipping cost!) for all the colors available and match it to your shoes to ensure a close match (better for them to be slightly darker than the shoes since your shoes will generally darken overtime with waxing and conditioning in the end unless you strip them often with renomat). They have great service (they sent me a new belt with FEDEX express service at their own expense) for posting a wrong one to me initially (Royal Post which was paid by me) and I even got to keep the original belt which was too long (gave to a more heavy weight friend) and occasional clearance sale which brought the prices down to around average of sgd150 if you stack clearance items with the SF code.

Bought 3 belts off them at less than sgd400 with shipping. Think they are going to outlast all my leather belts even without the recommended occasional Sedgwick wax conditioning.

There are lots of other bridle belt makers but I have not bought with them so no comments from my end for them. Worcestershire seems popular too I think with the dappered folks too?

Its basically different grades. Meermin classic should be considered entry-level. AS is more mid-tier. The leather, the soles and general finishing is better than the meermin pair (not saying the meermin pair is lousy but the AS does cost almost double). So if you're after quality and willing to pay more, go for the AS. For a beatdown shoe, meermin.
