Direct from EG. In hindsight I should have ordered from Skoaktiebolaget but I was too impatient.

Very worried about ordering shoes at EG prices without trying. May be i should stick with Carminas and English brands. I am also trying to see the Carmina split toe MTO can get going on SF.

I thought EG is also a English brand/shoemaker? It's on my wishlist. :o

Yes. I am famliar with Herring shoes and made-for-Herring Cheaneys. But i am not sure how similar EG is to Herring lasts. At the EG price point, i am not sure i want to take a bet and just buy without trying.

If you are already familiar with Carmina lasts, they have some very nice split-toe makes. In fact, there was a pre-order on Skoaktiebolaget for heavy stitch split toe bluchers in saddle shell. Rain last has a very generous instep and Forest isn't too bad as well.

If you're feeling adventurous you can also look at Enzo Bonafe. 946 last fits similar to Rain but has an even higher instep.

There is a group that has gathered quite a fair bit of interests to do a GMTO for split toe with Carmina going on in SF. I have also indicated interests there.

Re the post on Yanko shoes: It does seem like a solid choice and reviews thus far shows that the leather quality is indeed comparable to that of carmina's.

I think there is an online retailer that sells them at very reasonable prices (~270 euros; cf Carmina which costs ~340 euro). However, they carry exclusively models based on the 915 lasts (which is extremely similar to Carmina's Simpson lasts)

I am indeed interested in getting one but the costs of shipping seems prohibitive (~50 euros). I contacted the retailer and he suggested that one possible way is to split the costs of shipping by ordering several pairs - honestly I'm not sure how does ordering several pairs alleviate shipping fees since I don't really do much online shopping but I will enquire further). Hence I am wondering if anyone else is sharing the same expression of interests as me and maybe get something going

Went to check out Ed Et AL. Wow they sure are expensive, the RTW pair I was looking at cost SGD 349!

I read online blog reviews say below SGD 300.

I think there was an earlier post saying that there was a cheaper range of Ed's to be bought.
