Alden QC not good?
Camina prices for boots eur$700++ , Alden usd$700+. Price diff100+, Alden that bad?

As an owner of 1 shell tassel, 1 CXL Indy boot and suede Chukka from Aldens. Can't say the workmanship is that fantastic for the price I paid... Sold off the shell, keeping the indy and on the fence about the Chukka...

No direct experience but I doubt Alden QC is poor at their price point, and they are a known specialists in shell cordovan shoes But Carmina gets my vote for their sleeker lasts and more contemporary designs.

Would consider Alden shell loafers and boots, if going for an 'old school' look. But probably not for laced dress shoes.

Like you said, the boots and in my honest opinion LWB are classics... The others (even the tassel loafers) look well... masculine...

I guess it's an american shoe thing, same goes for AE in the lower tier...

Paying tax is a 'happy' problem. Hefty taxes is a sign of a heftier income!

Your taxes are gona stay whether u click submit (your CVV number) or not.

Carmina shells, on the other hand, run out of size fast, could be subject to price increase anytime, and may not even be available online at weak EUR prices once the Singapore physical store opens!

So.. take the plunge!

Thanks Hotlikebutter! Its indeed very helpful.. I will look at the colors again and pick the right one for Chestnut Antique calf..

Just like to mention one thing here, i was rather disappointed when i first received the shoes as the difference in the color is pretty obvious.. Its so unlike whats its like on the website.

Could you elaborate how was the color different from what it was indicated online? Were yours the newly released chestnut oxfords in olfe?

Hey guys,

I'm interested in buying a pair of meermins but I'm worried about the sizing. Can any owners comment? I've tried on edetal shoes and I fit a US 8.5 for most and I wear 8.5E for my red wing iron rangers. I have really wide feet so sizing is always an issue haha.

meermin is based on UK sizing... you may want to go Robinson to try out loake... i used loake sizing to buy my meermin. fits nicely.

The ones carried by Mason & Smith are not leather laces, but rather flat laces crimped at the ends with a selection of colours for the metal tips.
