Worth going Taitung?

Hi, i planned to go hualien, yilan and taipei. Pending to go taitung for 2 days or is it even worth to go there? I got 10 pax adult age around 28-65 and 1 toddler. I going for 10 days next year Jan.

Hello, Maybe not 2 days in Taitung, 1 day will do. You can fly in from Kaohsiung and depart from Taoyuan. Can consider going to Green Island and stay for 1 night. Itinerary Kaohsiung - Taitung - Green Island - Hualien - Yilan - Taipei. Easier to travel if you engage a driver for your trip. Suggest you to book a bus instead.
May be better.
So that can save the two guys from driving.
Driving results in fatigue.
So pity the two who may need to drive.

One can be by the seaside, the other by the rift valley.

cycled from Hualien to Taitung before, and also cycled around Taitung a bit before catching train back to Taipei.
Very laid back city. Feels like outer suburbs of Johor Baru

The coastline between Chenggong and Taitung was quite beautiful, but not really more so than Hualien region

My suggestion is to skip Taitung if you're pressed for time.
Your group looks quite large. Some may complain "boring la, nothing to see la"...

This place had no factories and the scenery is very nice. Traveling along the Pacific often sea coastal area is very memorable for me.

Places like Chi Shang, Lu Ye, San xian Tai is a must visit. It's very different experience as compared to Taipei as it's a very laid back County.

4pm ah, maybe take a rest then visit their night market.

活水湖 is located in one of the park just beside the Pacific ocean. The last time when I was there, they used it for a debunking competition. Quite a huge lake , slightly bigger than a Olympic pool I think. We rented bicycles and cycle around the park. Pretty nice scenery. Oh, got the national geographic frame for photo taking. Enjoy!

How many days and nights is a well-worth visit to Taichung?

Maybe 5 days. Visit the islands and Chi Shang too. I bought a small pack of Chi Shang rice back to Singapore. Haha.
