Macpherson is safe ground for PAP.. in GE2011, Macpherson actually got the 2nd highest support for PAP within the 5 constituencies in Marine Parade GRC.

this is because Macpherson is made up of mainly elderly residents who are more likely to be PAP supporters. on the one hand, the inclusion of TPL in MP GRC in the last GE affected votes in the other districts more where there are more young voters.

this is why, macpherson is cut off from MP GRC in this GE.. so that TPL will not be in MP GRC to affect PAP votes in the other districts.. while TPL is likely to keep her seat by virtue of the make-up of the constituents in Macpherson
