Hi there,

I did some research but am still very confused, I understand this probably comes up a lot but will appreciate any help at all.

I've never owned a console before, (and am only looking for one due to Dota2's ridiculous new UI). Basically I'm looking to play Fifa 17 (and every version after) and GTA V.

I understand that with Xbox you have to pay a monthly subscription just to play fifa online? Don't really understand all these different tiers of subscriptions and what not.

Both consoles seem to have been out for some time now, but which will have more longevity?

There is a great deal on xbox one student, $309 bundled with fifa17 and is really tempting.
From what I can see, PS4 prices are all around ~$500-600.

Please help! thank you :)

If I am not wrong, you need to pay to play multiplayer modes on Xbox One. For PS4, there is no need to pay for that feature. :s22:

I know this was the trend during the era of Xbox 360.

Choose PS4.

- The online multiplayer system of PS4 may or may not require you to pay. Meaning there is a chance you still can enjoy free online multiplayer depends on the game.
- Price is going down these days. It's S$389 if you get from Lazada with 12+3months warranty. During Black Friday deal, you can get it from Amazon for about S$310 with one Uncharted 4 game but without warranty
- Many more exclusives for PS4 than XBOX1
- XBOX one has external power supply! This is one of the dealbreaker for me. But the new XBOX one S has much better design, features, with internal power supply.

Another chao casual playing all the uninspiring yearly cash grab piece of sh1t from Electronic Autism. Juz buy the console which your fren owned since exclusive games is not your thing. Dun care about all the rubbish fanboy nonsense like most powerful console, better features and etc.

Wait a second! PS4 still need the users to pay for some multiplayer modes? My friends said there is no need to pay for PS3 multiplayer modes back then. Wow... Sony is following Microsoft's trend gradually.

Just buy xb1 then, simple. Ppl get PS4 cause they have more exclusives and graphics overall is slightly better, but xb1 nowadays the pricing very competitive also so if those 2 things don't really appeal to you don't bother just get xb1. Another good feature is xb1 got backwards compatibility, can use to play x360 games. PS4 cannot play PS3 games, gotta pay for some lame monthly network subscription like HBO liddat

The only bad thing about Xbox One is you need to pay to play the multiplayer mode of every game. I think this trend has been around since the Xbox 360 days. :s13:

If Xbox Scorpio (Just a project name) comes out at the end of 2017, then we will know whether is it really that powerful that can overshadow PS4. :s22:

XBOX Live is more expensive than PS Plus. So far, I haven't felt the difference in network quality.

But the XBOX controller is much better than Dual Shock, especially the asymmetrical dual stick layout.

Hahaha... Really? You better don't let my PS-support friends hear that comment. They say Xbox controller is a pile of ****. Not worth their time holding it. :s13:

I got sidelined when I bought Xbox 360. LOL... All of them have PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4. Die-hard PS fans/supporters.

I must say I am all for PS4. The alternative is Nintendo.

Rather than XB1, I'd rather get a PC.

I'm all for PS 4 now. But I might consider a Xbox One S for the 4K BluRay functionality in the future, and may be the odd exclusive titles.

I have a PS4 slim myself and I can tell you that for online play, you need to be a PS+ member.
Both PS4 slim and Xbox One S have inline power bricks...
Both of them are smaller than their previous iterations.
The PS4 controller is a lot better than the Xbox controller
The PS4 slim has 50% better graphics than the One S

I think the PS4 slim is cheaper than the One S. I got mine for 449 + 3 games (one of which I sold for 20)
The One S has a 4K Blueray player. If you need a player like that, the One S wins hands down.

Only for people who have both consoles can really answer your question because they have done gaming on both consoles. I am one with both and would have to say XBOX is better than PS4. I have done gaming with PS since 2008. As for the slim version, I can't comment since I do not have it. Many here buy PS but remain offline, so you can have 100k people buying but only less than 1000 Singaporeans playing online games :D

Also, PS is going downhill. ;)

PS4 controller battery consumption is worse than XBOX ;)

The supporters here are even die-hard than SONY's native supporters in Japan. I am shocked :s13:
