my switch to malaysia got upgraded to HyperOS 2 from 1.0.9.0

seems to fix the slow photo processing. hopefully the battery drain as well

This sounds like the first gen of rechargeable batts where we had to charge fully when its brand new due to memory effect. I think battery nowadays don't have such memory effects?
But i try to charge my battery to 90% can liao, no need 100% to hopefully prolong its life.

Hmm seems u are right if switched to UK.

But dunno why my phone sort of slowed/lagged abit when switched to UK

Maybe could have been my network issue since I was trying it in the mrt tunnels.

I double checked to make sure the it's the correct global rom version too (just incase there's some Europe version due to their complex privacy laws etc)

I revert to SG region after upgrade, because some text changed to Chinese under HK region. Nothing breaks after I change back to SG after the upgrade.

Yes..alot smaller. Lucky fonts not affected. More real estate but I prefer bigger icons for old unker like me.
