13 pro

i google it shows mobyshop selling at $1,599.00 worth buying?
personally i feel if you can live with no or just local shop warranty 6-12mths, get imported China set, about $400 cheaper for highest spec. At $1600, S23U is definitely a much better choice.

$150, $50 no problem. if they purposely build for external add-on, possibly add thread mounts could open up more options & 3rd party. nowadays China optics pretty good too.

most don't use telephoto that often. by making telephoto external, mobile will be made lighter & slimmer in normal use.
such things are already in the market for a long time, just not on xiaomi phone. Why? because there is no scale of economy doing for xiaomi. The market have simply "chosen" to stick with periscope than all these attachments.

becoz there weren't such market in the past. most aren't really into photography.

IMHO XM just begun challenge premium market with leica collab. with sensors getting better & bigger, more photographer interested in mobile photography so new market might emerge.

IMHO Xiaomi 13 non-pro is a very good buy vs equivalent flagship phones (S23, iphone 14 pro) after having used it for a few weeks. I got it at a really attractive price on recontract. But, i won't say the price.

Definitely it runs cooler than the ip14 pro.
Sometimes my previous phone (ip 14 pro) will get pretty warm when surfing websites continuously.
I haven't encountered this on the Xiaomi 13 yet. Honestly, i am pretty impressed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
8 Gen 1 was really pretty bad until 8 Gen 1+.
8 Gen 2 CPU loses slightly to A16 but GPU actually beats A16.

Battery life is better than ip14 pro.

Weight is lighter than ip14 pro but screen is bigger.

Wifi can be turned off without going into settings (one of the most irritating things about iOS).

It has Wifi 7 (more future proof).

Lock screen easily done by built-in dedicated app (iOS tap 2 times the back of the phone is usable but pretty inaccurate).

Wireless charging is really really fast.

Honestly, i would give Xiaomi 13 a 4.9 / 5 and i do consider myself quite a discerning smartphone buyer.

I did like pixel phones in the past but they have fallen a long way and are now just phones with a mid-tier processor at a semi-flagship price.

ip14 pro confirm lose out...
I was using xiaomi 11ultra... I find the image is better than ip14pm.
I think otherwise, if against 13pro, ip14p or ip14pm should be similar more or less, but 13 non-pro sensors are smaller across all 3 cams, where as both iphone model use the same setup.

try locking the app on the task menu. with MIUI14, China rom is closer than ever to Global rom.

I am not a photobuff.
I can just say it does take photos of a quality that meets my expectations from a flagship phone from my naked non-professional eye.

Xiaomi 13 is $1119 MSRP but a ip14 pro (non-max) 256gb (like for like storage) is $1836 MSRP.
I wonder if it is fair to even compare them since the pricing is quite different lol.

maybe just me bah... I found photos taken with my ip14pm don't have the XFACTOR of my old 11ultra.
dunno izzat the softness or bokeh etc.
