If you feel the edges of the Chinese phones you can feel the protector I believe. I also applied the curved privacy protector directly onto the pre applied protector although most people will remove it first.

Clear film very hard to swipe. Prefer matte film
Clear film is so much better for content viewing, matte film is more fuzzy, the lower grade matte film will even introduce rainbow effect. Both got pro and con. Good tempered glass with hydrophobic coating helps a little.

This isn't a issue of Chinese phones. Its simply the design of curved phone, doesn't matter what protector you use.

At probably S$1600+ for base 256GB, China ROM is a good buy at about $400 or 25% less unless you need the warranty. MIUI14 has closed a lot of gap between global and CN ROM.

Saw their disclaimer, not sure if it would affect our local apps:

Global ROM:It supports multiple languages .Support OTA Update
Note: The unlock bootloader has been unlocked and the ROOT permission has been turned on (this is the prerequisite for installing the global ROM). Certain banking applications and certain applications may not be available. (Applications for refunds and returns for this reason will be rejected. Please note)

NFC(maybe some country not work,we can't sure this.)

Hong Kong price around $1550 for 512gb... Limited pre orders get the camera kit free...

You think SG can match HK price? Pro model was 7699HKD ($1324) while SG is $1599.. for 256GB model. Base on this estimate, the 512GB base model for the Ultra will be probably $1799 or even higher in SG.

If bootloader unlock, it means the set is likely China set, just flashed with global firmware. If your objective is have official global ROM, that is ok, but if you want with warranty that comes with international model sold by Xiaomi SG, definitely no.

I'm talking about whether local apps like banking apps are working due to root, not about warranty.

I'm not here to speculate price.

I simply just mentioned the hk launch price.

I also did not say whether I expect singapore price to be similar to hongkong price.

I guess in this instance, if they miui 14 bloat ware can be removed and users here confirm banking singpass work, it makes more sense in this economy to get the "cheaper" version.

Is there anyone that got their gcam to work on the latest ultra phone? I'm a fan of Google cam..

What do you mean by "cheaper" if CN ROM, yes, most bloat ware can be removed without ADB or root, and Singpass work perfectly. For Gcam, tried several version, limited workability, either glitchy or not able to utilize all 4 cameras. TBH different between gcam and default app isn't that much as compared to 5 years ago.

"Cheaper" cn ROM because no one knows what is the markup when the global one makes it here if it makes it.

Thanks for your thoughts about gcam

How are the ergonomics of handling the Xiaomi 13 Ultra? I have heard people saying that it is too top heavy and therefore unbalanced due to heavy camera module.
