With the charge to 80% battery protection, the phone will still charge to 100% every fixed number of charge cycles to calibrate the battery meter. This is common among all manufacturers that implement charge to 80% limit not just xiaomi.

The drop to 79% immediately is because the charging stop immediately upon 80%. Checked with battery charging app.
oh! I didn't know that it'll still charge full to 100% after every fixed number of times... I thought it went bonkers and I immediately unplug at 80+ or 90+

so we are *supposed* to let it full charge to 100% on it's own? okay will take note next time... thanks! 🙏

Hi, I am using 15 Ultra since launch, gotten it during first batch. Generally battery life gotten worse over the recent updates to HyperOS 2.1, hopefully it gets fixed in HyperOS 2.2. I charge everyday now, which I have gotten used to it, normally I wouldn't recommend going into any battery saving modes or anything as this may cause delayed notifications for important apps.

I replaced the factory screen protector with SmartDevil one, it feels more or less the same as the factory one. They have different kinds, you can see what suits you best, they provide guiding frame to attach to the phone to allow for easy installation, no need to worry about misalignment or bubbles.

I'm not on battery saving modes but more of the battery protection mode - phone stops charging once it hits 80% to preserve battery life.

is your SmartDevil SP tempered glass or hydrogel? I'm looking for hydrogel as there have been sharing that tempered glass may be hit and miss with the ultrasonic fingerprint reader..

What is your usage. My 15 pro also use the charge protection and charge daily to 80%. Can get about 5 hours screen time with about 40% battery used according to the settings healthy device usage. Mostly web browser on 5g mobile data, streaming video and online shopping apps.

I think the the screen time is under estimated as saw in some reviews it do not count screen time while display home screen and settings. Some time use web browser for close to one hour but show only 20+ minutes of screen time. May it is using the front facing camera to track how much time our eyes are looking at the screen.

The battery settings do not show screen on time and needs to be charge beyond 90% to reset the active use counter.

I am not using the battery protection, charging to 100% for every charge, even from 100% it is just at max one day before having to charge again. But I do have my Xiaomi watch connected via Bluetooth most of the time and using 5G, both of which would definitely not help with battery life too.

I am using a soft film as I was similarly concerned about the Ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Battery drain should be because of Hyperos and a non optimized OS, which is the reason why I switched out of xiaomi for good (last used xiaomi 13 ultra and 13T). You can try UV glue TG (read reviews from Taobao) as mine works flawlessly on my vivo x200 ultra FP.

U r in the IT sector ? Ur TW office works with Nvidia ?
Used to but not anymore. At one of my previous company I was consulting for semicon and OEM/ODM TW firms. Very challenging when u are in a room full of smart PhD folks.

Debut in Xiaomi 15s Pro.

Downstream probably going to be reserved for mid tier XM vs Snapdragon Elite series XM flagships, seems to be better than Exynos/Tensor on paper but have to see real world metrics, overheating, throttling etc.

Meanwhile still good working relationship with Qualcomm. Probably a dual chip lineup like Samsung.
