Hi Guys,

Need help. I bought the xiaomi box from hongkong and it has been jailbreak. Lots of apps to watch movies and drama . I tested the box in the shop and also in my friend house. Just key in the wireless network and bang, it started streaming.

Came back to Singapore, connect to my network, bang. All the apps cannot stream at all. All say I cannot stream or failed to login or region blocked.

What happened? HK also is region locked but they still can stream. The shop say the have jail broken the device and the settings are all done.

Anybody can shed any light in this subject.

Need all the help I can get. Thanks

Singapore cannot work. Telco or IDA block the proxy or something. You need VPN

Thanks for all the quick response. Just want to check. Since most of the drama and videos come from China and Strongvpn only have server in HK. Any problems.

I not very interested in watching US sites. Mostly for my mom and dad who are interested in chinese drama.

Anybody can recommend a vpn with china or HK server besides strongvpn?

Help to improve streaming speed

Hi, I have also bought a Xiaomi 2 from HK recently. I have plug in the box and all apps are accessible except the streaming speed in terrible. I'm using Starhub Fibre 100MBPs and contract is ending only in Sep. Starhub just offered extension of contract at promotion price. Just wondering whether should upgrade starhub fibre to higher speed or drop this ISP and go straight for Myrepublic or Viewquest. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I doubt rooting the box, has anything to do with streaming from Sg.

I am also not sure is HK IP region locked, seems strongvpn users are able to stream, but PIA-HK server still cannot stream asian movies.

Next stupid question.

I tried pairing a bluetooth keyboard. under bluetooth, it shows paired then connected. After it shows connected, nothing happens. The stupid keyboard dont work. arrows dont work, typing dont work.

Please help and advise which keyboard you guys used that works?

I also looking at Strongvpn and other vpn services. I suspect we will need a server within china to stream successfully.

Please recommend a mouse and keyboard. I hate that stupid remote

No need vpn also can watch hk dramas. However it is an play on-demand box, and has no live telecast shows available (i.e. no soccer to watch).

xiaomi partners with icntv to stream their content. hk, chinese, koreans, taiwan dramas are free to watch on xiao mi and it does not require vpn subscription.

Will only need vpn for those US (i.e. movies) contents on xiaomi as US media companies are very particular about IP.
