So in summary (to watch YouTube in Xiaomi box):
1. Install YoukuXL. But only on rooted box
2. GoogleTV, requires Google Acc manager.

The usual YouTube apk does not allow sign in.

Nah, YoukuXL don't require root for the AirPlay feature.

However I'm facing same issue with AirPlay using that App. I may try to reset the box and reinstall again.

Keep us updated.

Hah not so soon, lots of things to do of i wish to go that route - prolly won't even do it. I'm actually not putting much hope on Airplay on the Mi Box.

Once one experience Airplay on the Apple TV, the standard is set that high, anything else is just unacceptable.

The only reason that airplay is needed for me is because the app is not available on android - so far only 1 for me which is dramafever. Thats no biggy as I have my workarounds.

one very noob question.
for you all who got the MiBox, any subscription fee needed ?
if yes, how to pay ? pay who ? by how ?

am really new on this kind of box thing.

The only subscription I pay is for my snbb. and appreciating the experts efforts to share good apks.. They have been a great help to us.

personally, i do not like the idea that the box is the wall plug itself. I still prefer the box to sit somewhere properly, even sometimes wire can be ugly.

I installed Kodi into my xiaomi 3 box, non rooted. Now I want to replace a arial.tff file inside so that Kodi can display Chinese, Japanese, Korean fonts.

What is the way that I can do so? I do not have the proper cable to connect the box with my PC to do so.

Ya. Airplay on the AppleTV is seamless. But then again .. its Apple to Apple. :D

If you're just trying to AirPlay YouTube then my suggestion is to use the YouTube App for Mi Box and pair your iOS devices to it.

The casting feature is the most seamless IMHO.

It doesn't really stream the video from the iOS device but instead the iOS device functions like a remote while the Mi Box plays the video straight from the YouTube server.

Just to share here, I installed latest Kodi in my mibox3, no root. Then installed the Youtube-addon. From there, I can watch, search Youtube videos without sign-in.

Just gotten the new mini mibox frm taobao.

Surprisingly good. Cos it's running Kodi faster than my 2gen Mibox. It's very odd considering its 1Gb compared to Gb on the bigger box.

But hot though. But honestly very surprised with the performance. I would choose the mini mibox over the large brother anytime.

Heard my friend said for Mibox need lot of setting or rooting.

i also thought so. But I think it depends on your needs. Mine is a original stock firmware box. For now, I installed Kodi, HDPTV, Togic, and Shafa (actually I will rarely use shafa I think), and I feel more than enough for me. Since I seldom watch streaming, the original xiaomi player and Kodi are sufficient. HDPTV and Togic are just for me to try out.

As of now, no rooting nothing for me to do.

Maybe, I need to find stream source to watch live football on Kodi or other app.
