Xiaomi Box Android TV Box

was looking at taobao for the xiaomi tv box. went through alot of shops but can't find one with forward agent delivery. anyone has any idea which one to buy from that has forward agent delivery? the price i see is about $50sgd with the channels etc but without the forward agent delivery it becomes $200+sgd cause of direct delivery. so which do people here use on taobao? thanks

lol just wanted to answer my own question in case other mi box users facing same prob as me.

my mi box 3 could not detect my singtel 5ghz network.

the solution: go into router set up page, for the 5ghz, change the channel to a lower channel (2 digits)

ekardo which ISP u using? cannot work as in the app wont load and jsut crash when u launch it, or the streaming is super choppy and laggy?

taobao disallow shipping of tv box overseas. use a 3rd party forwarder instead. suggest you use 65daigou because they have surface ship option. $1.7/500g.


another way is to buy from rakuten. the price is $80 including shipping. easier if you are not familar with 3rd party forwarder for taobao.

the normal price is $105, there is a $20 discount by using code "happypanda". on tuesday, there is additional 5% discount for mastercard, so the final price is $80.

hi greg, thanks for replying. lol im actually a fan of ur fb grp "tv box sg". and i followed ur advice to download shafa guan jia and shafa bi bei. from there i d/led 布丁 cos i saw u recommend it for tvb drama. i found it very slow and tried dian shi mao which seems to be a bit faster.

HDPtv for me is not too laggy but its not as high res. last night the HD fei cui (jade) channel was not HD lol. but watchable altho it buffered 10x during the 1hr drama.

actually I put up the post to tell everyone not to use 布丁, moretv. etc because they lag quite often. Better to watch tvb drama from kodi using dramago, drama24h and azdrama addon .

ah ok no wonder! i just went to saw the 65daigou ez-buy seems like it will only add the original 299yuan mibox to the cart cant choose the 348yuan mibox with the additional channels added. dont think that would be any issue would it so they will only purchase the original box and ship that to me

if you choose their ship-for-me option, you can get anything from taobao, you also save 8% fee.

Hey, sorry i'm new to xiaomi tv box. i got it from a friend from hk. it's running v.1.3.72. how do i root or see if this box have been rooted? i cant read Chinese btw. i would like to use this box to watch live BLP and oversea live tv. i tried using 小米盒子增强版ROOT工具. but it put server not running. really need help. thanks in advance.

You dont need xiaomi box to be rooted. All you need is to download the relevant android apps off the internet and install it via usb. There are many apps that can watch BPL but the majority of them are in chinese and at times unreliable.

Next stupid question.

I tried pairing a bluetooth keyboard. under bluetooth, it shows paired then connected. After it shows connected, nothing happens. The stupid keyboard dont work. arrows dont work, typing dont work.

Please help and advise which keyboard you guys used that works?

I also looking at Strongvpn and other vpn services. I suspect we will need a server within china to stream successfully.

Please recommend a mouse and keyboard. I hate that stupid remote

Go download the shafa market.there are lots of apps for further downloading. So far, 快手看片 is the best with minimum buffering.

hey guys! so far quite satisfied with my mibox, been solely using kodi for phoenix and genesis addons only. happy user lah..

got a question, has anyone extended its power cable? i find the current one too short, about 1 metres only and needa have it extended to put at a proper area.

Just download the apps with a .apk file extension. Then put the file in your usb. Turn on mibox, insert usb and you press up on the remote a few times until you can see the usb icon. Go in and the mibox file explorer will start. Just look for the app file and install it.

Usually first thing people install is SHAFA app. Because from shafa in the mibox, you can install more apps like a google play store.
