Is it easy to use?
How is xiaomi box 2 different from 3?
Curious since I wantt to buy for parents

Can your parents read Chinese? If not this box will be quite difficult to navigate. Other wise, it should be a breeze. Obviously you need to set up the apps for them first.

box2 and 3 functions similarly, the main difference is the processor as box2 is dual core, box3 is quad core. Obviously box 3 will be faster for loading. And box 3 can decode H265 video files which is used for 4k content. But so far, I have not come across any 4k video files online so that might not matter much to most.

lol just wanted to answer my own question in case other mi box users facing same prob as me. :s13::s13::s13:

my mi box 3 could not detect my singtel 5ghz network.

the solution: go into router set up page, for the 5ghz, change the channel to a lower channel (2 digits)

ekardo which ISP u using? cannot work as in the app wont load and jsut crash when u launch it, or the streaming is super choppy and laggy?

faced the same problem as u....thanks for sharing the solution

taobao disallow shipping of tv box overseas. use a 3rd party forwarder instead. suggest you use 65daigou because they have surface ship option. $1.7/500g.

another way is to buy from rakuten. the price is $80 including shipping. easier if you are not familar with 3rd party forwarder for taobao.

the normal price is $105, there is a $20 discount by using code "happypanda". on tuesday, there is additional 5% discount for mastercard, so the final price is $80.

seems like the code not valid anymore ? is there any new code for rakuten ?

Try MCALZ10, you will get 10% discount. And by using Mastercard today, additional of 5% off.

Or try MCWOW5 for 50% discount.

I have a mibox 1S. System1 is on 1.3.20 and system2 is on 1.3.72

I can boot using system 2 but every time it will say in chinese something it has been jailbroken. Still can use but it have a R app which control root privilege but not working. If I try to root using any method after install superuser app or superSU it will fail to install the binary, i think is previously on older version root it using vroot then it auto update and cause my system2 to become partial root.
Now cannot unroot nor root anymore T_T

System1 boot to launcher will always say some stuff I don't understand but seems to be region issue?

Anyone encounter this? how to solve the region issue?

I just received my Xiaomi TV box, 3rd gen, ordered from Qoo10.sg. I just realized it cannot be installed with App.so. My old MK8xx type can installed but a bit slow to buffer (slow cpu, less memory, I guess), "The premium contents" which are available in App.so is only last for 24 hrs and only for 1 channel, unless you subscribed for $80/yr. I believe there are "premium contents" box available in the market $100+, free premium contents on the first year/ $80/yr after 1st year, p.s. I don't own one.

Most Apps for product from Qoo10 are available from Shafa market.

Kodi app is available for free for both Android, pc and iOS. The one shipped with the Xiao Mi at Qoo10 does not even have a good add-ons installed. I will have to install myself later on.

Unless, anyone wanted to have the Xiao Mi box, I guess the cheaper MK Android box with App.so installed would be better off.

To their benefit, the premium content on 24 hrs trial does look good, occasionally lacked (not very often) on my M1 200mb package.

Just a feedback -- I'm on M1 1Gbps fiber plan, video steaming is generally fast for most of the popular channels.

I tried going to chaxun.xiaomi.com to see if i got an authentic box. The website asked for a 20-digit serial number, but what i got from the packaging and the sticker underneath the mibox is only a 16-digit number. Not sure if I got a fake one, but performance is all very good till now. Do you see a 20-digit serial number on your packaging or on a sticker underneath your mibox?

oh yeah. tvapp.so doesn't work on mibox, but i run it from my mobile phone and use screen mirroring to view on the tv screen. video projects nicely onto the tv screen, audio comes out nicely from my hifi speakers.

I tried mirroring on Samsung note3 and S4, both work.
Just turn on screen mirroring on your phone and turn on wireless display on the mibox, then from the phone select the mibox. You should see the display on the tv screen almost immediately. If you can't hear the audio, just adjust the volume on your phone as how you normally adjust your volume (use the up/down buttons on the side)

I haven't tried on iPhone yet. Not sure if it works on iPhone. Maybe i'll try tonight and update this post.

hope some guru's here able to enlighten me. :s13::s13:

I'm looking to buy 3rd Gen Mi box from qoo10. Shortlisted 2 seller's. The issue here is both seller make it compulsory to get "premium" package which add S$40-50 and No Guarantee if one of the day later can't watch.

Then there is this S$80/yr thing to enable to watch those in this
iptv.jpg

my question is, can i get the MiBox and pay S$80/yr for those channel without paying the premium package?
