Hi , for e xiaomi tv box , if using micro sd , jus plug in will do or need e.g jailbreak, root?

No need root but need Developer Mode enable, use DomoSettings app to access setting page, set to use sdcard.

However, not all app will be installed to sdcard, especially the Chinese video apps. You can manually move some but you will need root to force move those that cannot.

Selling cheap at 1/2 price at $50 because i can't figure out the chinese words. Hahaha

Can anyone check and tell me which version of youtube is on the MiBox Mini? the one that can use the remote control that comes with the MiBox Mini. I hate to have to buy a Bluetooth mouse.

I have Xiaomi tv box 2,3, and 4. I uninstall the YT app on all of them because to me the app sucks. It keep showing old trending video. I download the doplhin browser apk and use youtube on that browser. Trust me it's faster and better. Alternatively you can use other browser too. I use a china brand bluetooth mouse for 1 week and then one day the button is unusable lol.. If I'm not wrong qoo10 sell a Samsung bluetooth wireless mouse for $30. Haven't bought it yet though...

So it has a few episodes so I can click and watch anytime? no need to record?
when i click, do i watch instantly or need to wait for the episode to fully download?

Is it true that I must get Viewquest internet connection?
What is the min internet speed for xiaomi TV box?
I'm looking at 5th generation ones advertised on qoo10.
Is it easy to install?

your friend watch chinese channel of course it is with chinese commentators.

you starhub box also speak chinese when watching channel 8.

New to Xiaomi TV Gen 3...

Hi everyone,

With the long thread, I am at a loss as the messages are mixed with Gen 2 and Gen 3 information, and even sub-threads about channel apps, etc.

Basically, is there a thread/sticky to note what to do with a new Gen 3 box? The guys selling it to me ended up saying they "rooted it and installed some channel apps for me". Now, it boots directly into the GTV launcher, and I cannot get to any settings (e.g. to enable development mode) or otherwise.

How do I even wipe this thing clean to re-root and ensure only my approved apps are on it (and not some spyware/malware)?

local xiaomi doesn't sell tv box.

never buy tv box from exhibition - for mibox, cheaper to buy from lazada or rakuten.
