Xiaomi Global Rom Flash Instruction

Before you continue with the steps listed in this guide; you acknowledge and accept that any damage to your phone caused by your attempts to Flash your phone is your own responsibility. I will not be responsible for a bricked device, dead SD Card, or anything to do with your phone. If you don’t know what you’re doing; please research and If you do not feel comfortable with the steps, then DO NOT PROCEED.

Please check which phone model available for the global flash rom
Look for .tgz extension files because it only work for this method
as below

(1)Create/Login to Xiaomi account in Xiaomi web with your email and password, remember the email and passwords;
please make sure u add ur phone number inside ur account

(2)Go to your phone setting--Turn On “Developer Mode”: Settings -> My Device -> All specs -> MIUI version, click it 7 times until system tell you has been a developer;

(3) Go to your Phone Setting -> Additional settings -> Developer options -> Mi Unlock Status, Add your mi account there.

(4) Open this page : http://en.miui.com/unlock/ ; Click Unlock Now, download and install the unlock tool. Open this unlock tool and login your mi account.Make sure files is on place on your main primary location drive SSD or HDD e.g Local Disk (C:/)

(5) Turn off your phone, then press power button+volume down button at same time to enter Fastboot page.

You will see the image as above

Then connect your phone to PC with USB cable. Make sure your pc already installed the phone usb drive, if not, please turn on the phone, then connect with USB cable,
your PC will automatically start to install usb drive

(7) Back to your PC unlock tool file,choose and open “miflash_unlock”,

click unlock there, Device will be started to be unlocked:
Click continue anyway twice


Make sure the phone can be unlocked successfully

if not wait until a few days before it can be unlock

(8)Download and install the xiaomi flash tool :
https://xiaomiflashtool.com/category/download
Make sure files is on ur main primary location drive SSD or HDD e.g Local Disk (C:/)

(9)Download Ur Phone Model Global ROM
e.g https://miui.blog/redmi-note-7/miui-10-global-stable-v10-2-7-0-rom-fastboot-recovery-violet/

Extract .tgz files using winrar
After u extract it the files will shown as e.g as below
violet_in_global_images_V10.2.7.0.PFHINXM_20190316.0000.00_9.0_in





Open ur mi flash tool in your PC, you will see this icon

(10)Unzip the ROM zip file, click select the file that u already download

(11)Now turn your phone to Fastboot(power button+volume down), connect to PC with USB cable, select the file, there will be a device named in number and alphabet instruction from(10) was circle in black (different phone may get different model number):
Recommended to leave it clean all circle in blue
Lastly click flash

It will show success.Phone will reboot and just wait for 8 min or so to boot up....Do not touch the phone or turn it off

You can still update the latest software no problem
and ur fingerprint and lockscreen will work as normal

this guide is only really useful for china set, not much point for global set. also you must not select "clean all and lock" while flashing global on china set, if not will hard brick.

i don't know why some of u cannot log in bank apps
i tried dbs ibanking dbs paylah and also my maybank no problem using the global rom and i pay my maybank credit card bill last 3 or 4 days ago using the phone
maybe gpay not working

but nvm i will stick to global as i still prefer global rom
to the rest of guys still prefer china rom then let it be

can u show what is error u got when u are using ur phone?maybe some permission

You'll need magisk hide, most banking apps can detect root easily.

Btw, now need 168 hours to unlock.

why cannot boot?

anyway u will need to find out if it is a global or china set. what phone are u using? if it is old enough u can flash either global or china rom without worry, but for phones made after jun 2018 u will need to be careful, as flashing the wrong regional rom on locked bootloader will make your device unrecoverable.

he already say his phone cannot boot, sometimes flashing stock and starting again can make it work again.

anyway @jupiter was just curious as to what u were doing to your phone before it started bootlooping. were u doing any root modifications or did it just die for no reason?

for rn3 I think u can just straightaway flash global rom, no need to unlock bootloader. but must be a bit careful ah, whether u want to save user data (which might be the cause of your bootloop) or wipe your data to have a completely clean phone and increase your chances of it booting again.

2. Any potential negative effects after unlocking bootloader and flashing global rom?

Does your phone have NFC? You tried the NFC function already like ezlink, flashpay, top ups, or just using it on transport.

Also have you tried locking the bootloader after unlocking it?

if u just unlock and lock without flashing anything nothing will happen, u can just use your phone as normal. of course your data will be wiped during both unlock and relock, so be careful.

however, do NOT lock your bl once u have flashed global rom on your unlocked china rn8. this will hard brick your phone, and mi sg will very likely refuse repairs for non local sets.
