generally mediatek phones do not get much attention from developers since in the past they were slow, power inefficient and developer unfriendly, and as such were generally reserved for no frills phones. now with the n8p, the first two issues have been resolved, but it appears the mediatek chip is still developer unfriendly, as people have bricked their n8p by trying to mod it, and as of now there is no way to recover it, unlike xm snapdragon phones which can use emergency download mode. so for now, no it's not safe to flash stuff on the n8p.

But I thought emergency download mode is only for authorised Xiaomi accounts?

Thanks for the insight!

did more googling, apparently I was somewhat wrong. yes edl requires authorised account, but what makes sd platform more dev friendly is because for mtk phones like the n8p, once you brick it fastboot apparently becomes disabled as well. this is not the case for sd phones, which will allow u to recover your phone with normal miflash. however, since u cannot access fastboot with mtk phones once u have done something wrong while flashing something, edl is the only way to recover it, which as u mentioned requires an authorised account.

my point still stands, better to not do any tinkering with the n8p until dev becomes more stable.

Anyone knows if CN ROM downgrading to CN ROM (older) without unlock Bootloader can it work with MiFlash?

Have checked that the ARB of the old ROM is the same as new, so should not have issues on ARB.

Do not wish to unlock bootloader as it might cause some other apps not to work while previous CN ROM version is working great for everything. New ROM on Android 11 breaks too many things with google sideload.

The latest Android 11 Chinese Miui 12.1.3 rom has tons of issues with Google Play Services and apps. It rendered my CC9 Pro Premium Edition unusable. Can anyone kindly tell me what's the latest Global Stable rom for the Mi Note 10/Mi Note 10 Pro? Thanks...

I dun think so. If I am not wrong, only with fastboot can one flash an older firmware than the one already on board the phone. And to use fastboot for the miflash, will have to unlock bootloader.

Hi everyone, after unlocking the bootloader and flashing a global rom on my CC9 Pro Premium Edition. Can I add Magisk at a later date? Will adding Magisk and rooting the phone delete all the data on the phone? Thanks...

If u have Twrp installed, then u can install Magisk at a later date without losing data on the phone. Otherwise it is advised to use the rom patching method to put Magisk on the rom so that when the rom is flashed, Magisk is already on the phone. But this will require a factory reset so back up your data before doing so.

Hi there. Thanks for much for your advice. I've managed to flash to a global rom and installed magisk. But is there anyway to hide the unlock bootloader icon when you restart the device? Thanks...
