bros who ordered, pls let us know if you are still able to activate your gms services when you receive your mi11 china sets ...

apparently it's been announced that all china sets will not be able to activate / use gms services anymore. (company's decision)

not sure whether it's gonna apply to new handsets or new models from here on.

thanks all :)
just received my set, will try to google services ltr and share:D

Most likely the end of exporting future Xiaomi smartphones from China (CN Rom) unless you are planning to flash Xiaomi EU ROM into it or use without GMS.

Looks like future Xiaomi smartphone from China (CN Rom) won't even preinstall GMS.

Are you saying CN rom phones who already have Google services and play store will have them uninstalled?

This will seriously be an issue for me as I am a noob and would have problems re flash Eu rom or rooting...

Now still can sideload GMS apks without root, but I'm not too sure if you can still sideload GMS apks after the 12.5 MIUI update or they will somehow block access to GMS apks even if you managed to sideload it like how they block the third party launcher thingy. I also don't understand the non high end phone thingy, why only non high end phone, so means say SD 8XX xiaomi phone still can use gms after 12.5 update? So weird. :s22:

I think best is don't update first and see other user got report any issues after updating depending on your phone. Right now, K30 Ultra, Redmi 10X 5G and some xiaomi devices [ non SD 8XX] running on MIUI 12.5 CN Rom tio this GMS block thing. Unless the smartphone already features GMS by default then Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 12.5 China ROM software will block any installation attempts on unrooted devices.

yah seems weird too, will see how it goes when 12.5 comes for my device. If worse case, then i will just use my redmi note 9 pro for daily driver

I hope Mi 11 Pro comes with SD870 instead of SD888. More battery saving, less heat issue.

Thanks for the advise. Mine is a k20..hope it will be spared as the phone does what I want it to...if not, time to look for a new phone..

Xiaomi software engineer replied on gms issue.

Google asked all phone manufacturers worldwide to close the loophole of user installed gms on unrooted phone. Google will ban user installed gms on unrooted phone anyway. The affected phones do not update to 12.5 may also not be able to use gms.

Phones that comes with preinstalled gms is safe and xiaomi plans to upgrade phones that meet the requirement with preinstalled gms.
