Its quite risky. But a spec/performance equivalent phone would cost 400-500 onwards easily. Yea global rom comes with google playstore then you just install whatever you want from there on.

Hi guys, i just got my mi5 and update to global 8.1 stable. 8.1.2.0, Tried to use NFC for android pay and it does not work when point to the terminal. Have tried a few different stores and still does not work. It allows me to add new cards. Just that it does nothing when point to the terminal. Is it the rom issue or it might be the NFC that's spoil? I read thru forums and it seems got a lot of mi 5 android pay got issues. If it's the rom can any expert point to me the rom that allows me to use android pay? Thanks!

Android pay works for me on 8.1.2.0.

Not sure if this helps but you can try to go settings, more, default wallet, use hce wallet, tap & pay, payment default, android pay.

My mi 5 is completely wrecked after 3 months.
Mic not working anymore, service center unable to help Cuz I removed camera due to work restriction.
Subsequently phone no signal, as good as paper weight.

For those on Mi 5, 5s and 5s plus, does any of these phones support 4G+3G? Need a phone for my 2nd and 3rd SIM card.

Pls advise

8.2.1.0.NAAMIEB nightly is available via ota on global stable now...
