Another problem I faced...

After installing Google Installer and Google Play Store,

Play store works. But I can't seemed to sync my Google contacts in..

Does your Google calendar works too?

Any kind souls here? I am seeking your guidance please.

use the contacts+ app from playstore it will sync all your google contacts , once synced you can uninstall it

But then after a whole other says cannot sync, please try later.. Very puzzled.

Any chance of making your Google calender sync too?

Mine can't.

anyone else using global rom and experiencing connectivity issues wif cellular data frequently? like e only global rom version that dun have such problem was 7.2.4.0. all others like 7.2.8.0 and current 7.3.5.0 and e dev rom 6.5.30 all have problems

hmm 7.2.8 is the worse

7.3.5 and 6.5.30 still have the same problem although not as bad as 7.2.8

6.5.30 maybe better than 7.3.5..

Unlocked bootloader then can flash back old version rom?

I'm on China Rom 7.3.4.0.

So far so good. Battery life and connectivity quite good.

Was trying out global rom 6.5.30 earlier but phone got hot easier and battery drained like nobody's business. So switched back.

I was having issue using the Google installer method. So I tried this method and it works for me. You may want to try it:

Only difference is that this method let you install the individual google APK yourself, before installing the 2 sync apk.

My contact and calendar sync works ok for me. Running China Dev ROM.

I am unable to change default apps for Browser (to Chrome) and Gallery to use Quickpic. can change the default app for Music and Video. Anyone has same issue? RUnning China DEV ROM 6.5.30..

Mine came with qc2 charger , 18 watts max

Check amazon, get the qc3 chargers

For cables make sure they are
-spec compliant,
-usb 3
-capable of 3amp charging..

I got a cable that is spec compliant but usb 2 and max supported amps is 2.4

not that i can see, at least not on my usage. or at least its not as obvious as the other global roms i mentioned

that i not sure, but unlocking bootloader is the most direct and straightforward way when using miflash. Its especially useful if future roms dun have edl reboot option.

Just use choetech quick charge 3.0 charger to charge the mi5.. according to the watt meter on display.. it can output 15.6w .. not bad.. from 25% to 100% around 1hour 10 min..
