Don’t get suck into these high vs Low red, Oled vs lcd stupid comment. Just get those that within your Budget. Strain eyes...lol, you think asking you to look at those >10yrs old panel?

Went down today to funan store and I hate to say that the fonts looked blurrish. That's for me lah.

So I guess this phone is out. Btw the staff there all like a bit out of sorts. Very poor product knowledge. I asked a very basic qn such as how to take a wide angle photo they said A3 don't have. So I pointed to the description on the display table quoting 'wide angle' as a selling point of the phone. Yeah.... Disappointed haha

I think it's all in the mind. When I first saw the Mi A3, I didn't realized that it is a 720p screen, I was "shocked" to find out later cause I didn't noticed any difference.

I went for a second look, knowing full well it is 720p, but still find the screen ok, fonts and pictures are sharp and not jagged. In the end, I bought it and never had a problem.

A screen of that size, 720p will still look very good, unless you have bionic eyes to see the difference. I Youtube a lot, and I just preset it to 720p resolution and everything's fine. You're not really missing a lot from a 1080p.

By the way, I "upgraded" from Mi A1 which is a 1080p screen, and didn't have problem "adjusting" to this screen. it fact I felt this is a better screen due to being AMOLED.

You won't "see" it if you are not reading a lot of text. But once you see it, you can't unsee it.
It's not in the mind, it's just that everyone's eyes is different.

I opened a webpage on the demo unit and could see it almost immediately. So I will stick to my 1080p IPS screen ;)

Am very happy user of A1.....very impressed w the 1080p screen.

Unfortunately for the A3 to use 720p screen...this is a major bugbear for me.:(

MI genius 😂

Are you guys still hopeful there will be a Pro version? I saw the price drop was thinking of getting it then remember no NFC. Also, rumour about a phone with the 108mp sensor could be coming (not the alpha).

Nope, definitely no Pro version, the Mi CC9 which was previously speculated as Mi A3 Pro has been launched internationally as Mi 9 Lite.

In my opinion, if they wanted have good sales for a Android One device, they would have done it right the first time.

Mi A3 was exactly what they wanted if they had to fufill Android One obligations and not canabalize their Xiaomi phone sales.

How's the phone so far? Battery life and performance
The phone have fantastic multi tasking ability, apps rarely closed if you leave them in the background. Conversely it's battery life have been normal so far. Depends on my usage, usually I needed to charge twice per day with light gaming and Pokemon go-ing.

After you installed GCam on this phone you will see significant improvements on the camera department
