The Mi Max is one successful device that Xiaomi has introduced in the year of 2016, and it has successfully paved its own way out of the many other phablets with its outstanding BIG screen at an affordable price!

To continue the streak, Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Max 2 today!

Wait for performance comparison.

From what I read, SD650 is better in performance while SD625 uses less battery, which means longer battery life.

I find the current speaker for mi max is good enough. can't imagine stereo speakers on Max 2! the only thing I don't like Max 2 is, the bottom bezel looks thicker..

I'm hoping it sound like HTC stereo speakers. Wohooo.

UPDATE (25/05/2017):

Xiaomi has just unveiled the successor to the successful Mi Max today, say hi to the Mi Max 2!

Mi Max 2 features an improved design, with a full metal unibody design with the antenna bands designed discreetly at the edges for a more seamless metal back. It’s also more improved for one-handed usage too.

Mi Max 2 features a huge 5300mAh battery, which is able to last for at least two days under a heavy usage(refer to second pic below)! Charging the Mi Max 2 is a quick affair too, with QuickCharge 3.0 it will charge the Max 2 up to 68% in just an hour.

Mi Max 2 features a flagship Sony IMX386 image sensor for its rear camera! It’s the same sensor found on the Mi 6 too. It features a large pixel size of 1.25μm, enabling more light in the photo.

lower number doesnt mean its a downgrade. sd 625 is an octacore and has a smaller architecture than sd650. 14nm compared to 28nm. means it consume less power, battery drain less. i think performance wont be much difference

some changes here:

Bigger Camera resolution supported (24MP vs 21 MP)
Octa core, all A53 (though very less applications support multi threading at such an extent)
USB 3.0 supported
14 nm architecture (new, cooler, battery efficient)

EDIT: but then i was hoping for the new sd660..oh well

That should convince a lot of buyers about the number; SD625.

Price wise....Hmm....

Anyway! No rush for most users here!

We still need to wait for MIUI to rolls out Global rom unless you are okay with China rom with a GAPS insertion.

Camera

I really like about their claim to have bigger camera pixel from 1.00μm to 1.25μm.

However the aperture went down from f2.0 to f2.2. (which means it will take longer to take in light).

Thus, it will take a longer shuttle speed for the camera to take a night photo. (the longer it is, the higher chance your hand will shake and blur the photo)

Then again, it has bigger camera pixel. Hope there will be a post with photo comparison with the photo shots details..
