Basics: 6.7 Super AMOLED screen, 7000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 730 with 6GB + 128GB with micro SD slot with 4 cameras at the back. Just not know if it's dual SIM or hybrid dual SIM...

Do factory reset. It solved my battery issue but my mic issue is still not fixed..

Mine was updated to MIUI12 as well, I did reboot the phone and have not noticed any significant battery drain...so far, so good.

I asked this question few days back you can see the response when you scroll down. I could not find a suitable device. The one from xiaomi is the shark pro model which is 7.1. price is expensive. The other option to find is do a filter in gsmarena.com for find phones.

Not sure how other brands are root friendly these days.

For all EU ROM users they can use miuimix which is based on EU with some tweaks for performance and battery. Quite good ROM. It's pre rooted with magisk.
