I updated yesterday. Feels buggy and laggy. Playstore can't load after installing MIUI 12. I did managed to update my apps on playstore just before I updated to MIUI 12, so I don't know what is wrong.

Look like the MIUI12 with the older google service that we installed can't sync it, I try with the above link on ver 20.30.16(Google Play Services) seems like working now

I finally managed to fix the problem.
Do this first

Then do this

Go to Settings / Apps / Permissions / Autostart and enabled autostart for Google Framework Services.

Just been informed by my bank that they'll stop supporting Android 7 which I'm still using on my Mi Max 1 Prime.
Anybody knows of any way to update to Android 8?
I'm thinking maybe buying a 2nd hand Mi Max 3 but I'm afraid that support will also end soon with 5G now available.

i think the best way is still root and update with vanilla android 8(no miui skin)

I've tried shopping for big phones at the telecom shops.
I just cannot get used to smaller phones where the smaller texts just giving me eye strain.

People complaining that phones are too big to handle are forgetting the relative importance of big text vs easy handling. The health of the eyes is much more important than the lazy hands.

We use our eyes watching the phones, that's the main purpose of smart phones nowadays, not just making call without looking at the phone screen.

Easy one hand handling is secondary to easy reading. Like nowadays if you buy TV smaller than 40" you'll immediately feel uncomfortable watching it. Do we still clamour for petite TV that don't clutter up our living room?

So I'm sticking with my big phone till another decent max comes along.
Meanwhile, I'll be using computer for banking if necessary.

You would still have chances of paying someone via PayNow for instance while you are on the road. Singpass may be needed to access say your CPF account while you are moving. So I personally can't and won't count on home/office PC to perform these transactions.

Actually I have more than one bank for that. I'm only worried that the other banks will also not support Android 7 soon.

My MiMax Prime is working perfectly fine after changing battery 2 years ago. There's no reason to change since there's hardly anything new from smart phones nowadays except gaming which I don't play.

If this bank don't support Android 7 then I choose another bank, that's competition.

My colleagues calling me by their iphone XS, after 50 secs then my Mi Max 3 start to ring. Calling me by others android phones are also immediate. Anyone encountered the same before? Changed Sim card and reset all call setting, still the same. Btw, I am on Singtel SIM only plan
