Not sure if it's the same volume bug; I'm on global 8.2.3 and using my earphones to listen to FM radio I've found that I've got to raise the volume to the max to be able to actually hear properly.

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT

Wow, yours has FM radio. You are using the built in radio i hope. Not many have it. I have decided to get the 4/128 mi max. Any good deals on it. Please pm me.

That's volume scaling bug I have been talking about on Global Stable rom when using different apps or functions.

Interestingly, the latest Global Developer 7.5.11 has fixed this volume scaling bug and the low volume bug via earpiece with YouTube as well as the Mi Sound Enhancer. :)

Yes! The Mi Sound Enhancer is finally fixed in the developer rom. I'm not sure when they are going to fix it on Global Stable rom.

Ok then yes totally apt description there. At 80% of the bar (where the loud volume warning appears) it's still way too soft. At 100% it's more like the usual 70-80%.

Yes. That's the bug.

So, for the time being, you must remember to lower the volume to likes 40% or 50% on the scale before you start listening to your mp3 or watching video.

Else, your ears will get blasted terribly at 80% - 100% volume level... Scary siol!

Since the volume bug and Mi Sound Enhancer are fixed in the latest developer rom 7.5.11 (Nuogat based).

I'm back using it in order to have more frequent weekly firmware updates. :)

So at the moment is the EU rom or developer rom better?

EU ROM 8.2.3.0 is still better coz it is well polished and bug free.

As for developer rom, you will never know that the next update may break something again likes these volume bug and Mi Sound Enhancer while they are trying to fix something else or introduce something new being a testing rom...

Do not try eu rom developers rom 7.5.11. It has quite a lot of bugs as it is based on China developer 7.5.11 rom.

Somehow, the global developer 7.5.11 rom is better than China developer 7.5.11 this time around on Mi Max Prime.

IMHO, hassle free with no audio bugs, EU stable. Official beta, can be good as well if you can live with some apps may behave strangely in it due to nougat. For audio on official beta, as per bro kelvinti, it's fixed and you tend to get easy ota updates via it (this part which eu beta loses out).

P.S. Personally have not tried on official beta, but tried on eu beta and loved the audio part but due to my apps behave strangely, fall back to eu stable.

I did try eu rom Beta 7.5.11 on my Mi Max Prime and somehow, my mp3 skips like hell. Could not listen to all my songs at all. :(

Now with global beta 7.5.11. No mp3 skips. :)

Basically, flash and stick to eu rom 8.2.3.0 if you want a bug free usage.

I presumed that you are talking about official rom, and not about eu rom?

If so, you don't need to unlock bootloader from official global rom to official developer rom and via verse. :)

Use the miflash in EDL mode to flash.

Bootloader must be unlocked first and then follow by installation of TWRP via Fastboot mode, then install the EU ROM zip via TWRP. Bingo! Happy forever after 15 minutes. :)

All the brief steps can be found on EU rom web site.

Can refer to my steps 2 pages back to get the idea of the whole process. :)

aiyaya, my bootloader should be locked i think... that takes a few days right?

No happiness within 15mins... :s13::s13:

So I just need to download the fastboot version of the developer rom from here

http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#458

Filename : http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.5.11/miui_MIMAX652Global_7.5.11_26ec74f629_7.0.zip

And miflash beta and guide here?
