Bought a replacement battery from a particular shop in Sim Lim, more battery drain than the previous one bought online from a local guy.
Believed they should have done inhouse testing on the batteries they selling. I'll give them my benefit of doubt on this as they aren't cheap. Anyway regarding the batteries you're looking at, as always. Caveat Emptor.

My 3 year phone battery looks like almost dead. Not sure if charging port is also dying. Is it worthwhile to replace the battery? I think cost about $40 quoted by ah beng phone shop. Or should I order online and replace diy?

Better not. Was cheated by an ah beng shop along bugis street, battery life turned to be worse than before.

That's what I am afraid of. But the phone is good enough for me though a tad slow so kind of waste to replace with new one. Mebe will checkout YouTube videos and see if can diy.

Give Mister Mobile a try. Replaced Asus Zenfone 3 battery with them. So far working well. Drop them a Whatsapp for a quote and appointment.

Just been informed by my bank that they'll stop supporting Android 7 which I'm still using on my Mi Max 1 Prime.
Anybody knows of any way to update to Android 8?
I'm thinking maybe buying a 2nd hand Mi Max 3 but I'm afraid that support will also end soon with 5G now available.
I'm still trying to hold on to my old phone because with 4GB, it's working perfectly fine as there's no more such good big screen phones.

My ideal upgrade would be
huge screen(it's a must like all Mi Max fans know)
OLED screen
5G
6GB
128GB
USB type C,

Tested battery so far for a week or so, not bad, like first day new battery, hope can last for another 2 years or so.
