So I just need to download the fastboot version of the developer rom from here

http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#458

Filename : http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.5.11/miui_MIMAX652Global_7.5.11_26ec74f629_7.0.zip

And miflash beta and guide here?

http://en.miui.com/thread-307139-1-1.html

Before you start on any thing, do a back up and copy data out of the phone storage.

The zip file is for recovery method of flashing.

If you want to use miflash and edl method, have to download the fastboot .tgz file. and all data will be wiped.

latest global beta, http://en.miui.com/thread-609754-1-1.html

unzip twice till you see a folder.

No lah. You anyhow hoot... Haha!

That's a recovery rom, not Fastboot rom.

You should go to the main forum page. Browse to Global Beta 7.5.11 thread. Then scroll down the page to find Mi Max 64/128. Pick up and download the Fastboot rom.

As for the miflash flashing guide. That's about it but then again you need to read up. It is difficult to guide here and the guide may not tell you in details.

Search dragonguy, he has posted miflash flashing guide in this thread too.

Told you already wah. Hehe.

Yes. Not really a wipe out method but please make sure you backup whatever you need using whatever methods to be safe.

Anyway, a total data wipe out method is always recommended for such rom switching.

Search me. I have posted the method pages back. Please read up.

:s13::s13::s13:

Just tried. Couldn't unlock.
"Binding time is too short. Less than 72 hours".

I have never turned on developer settings, and the phone is not bound to my Mi ID... :s22:

Must turn on USB Debugging in Developer Options in your phone first..

dont really need to unlock if you only want to flash miui rom.
using miflash with edl mode is good enough.

even can install twrp(for installing 3rd party roms, root or backup and more...) with locked bootloader.

Well, twrp by right can be flashed on locked bootloader like i mentioned many pages back, but somehow many failed it, which i don't understand why. In the early days of mi max, i managed to flash twrp and eu rom on locked bootloader. However now.... the new users like cannot lay... Lol...

Even my guide for the twrp via edl, got users bricking their phones, which bricking is theoretically impossible.

Can you provide a guide or a link on how to do this?

Actually it's possible to switch from global to developer using flashing the recovery rom using the phone's updater right?

The major bugs with the official Global rom are:

1. Low volume output for YouTube via earpiece. It is partly due to the volume scaling bug between different source of media inputs (YouTube, mp3, video audio).

2. Mi Sound Enhancer is still not functioning in Global rom. Also, the moment you activate it. The media volume (mp3 and video) drops drastically low!

If these 2 bugs are not a major factor to you. Then, you should just stick to Global rom even though eu rom is way much smoother and speedier and snappier and with awesome MIUI audio quality!

Enjoy your Mi Max. :s22:

Mi sound enhancer is working, if you don't install the music apk the eq won't work..

Anyway, I have been running the Global Developer 7.5.11 for the past 24 hours now.

It has been pretty good. No major bugs found so far. :)

All my apps are functioning well. :)

Hmm... On Stable 8.2.3.0?

Let me double check again on the other set of my Mi Max Prime running 8.2.3.0 to reconfirm again...

Ok! Tested on my other Mi Max Prime running official Stable 8.2.3.0.

Let's put it in a more precise statement! :s22:

Mi Sound Enhancer is working but........the moment you activate it The low volume bug kicks in. I have to adjust the volume to higher level at 80% at least to be able to hear the music played.

After you deactivated Mi Sound Enhancer, the low volume bug stayed and your music remained in low volume even though the volume level is at 80%!

To recover from this low volume bug. You have to close the music app and then clear it from the Recent Apps. Closing the music app alone is not sufficient to recover it. Else, low volume bug stayed until you reboot your Mi Max.

So, technically, the Mi Sound Enhancer is still has the same flaw since the first MIUI 8.2 series!
