Outlook Calendar cannot Sync with Xiaomi Calendar nor Google's
Hi everyone!
After reading all the posts here for the past weeks, I finally decided to get the Mi Max (via Qoo10 @$304 including delivery, China set with MiUI 7 global rom and Google Play installed)
Spent last night transferring all my stuff from my Galaxy Note 4 (it now feels small....). Encountered some issue when moving icons (resolved after I changed the screen effects back to slide and use the Move App option).
Everything is great except for 2 things I found:
- Battery drain, charged overnight to 100%, woke up, checked FB, email, update a few apps and its drops to 94%...seems too fast compared to what I've saw on various reviews
- Calendar doesn't sync. Setup my office Outlook, got the emails but the calendar events don't sync and appear. Installed Google calendar and the same thing as well. Even my Google account calendar events do not appear in both. Sync up several times, but no go. The only thing that appears is the SG Holidays calendar (Google)
Anyone has any ideas? Thanks!

It is best to flash it to global rom. One and for all to solve all the abnormalities which includes the issue with Google related apps that comes with China rom.

That's why I want to find out how to flash official global ROM for Mi Max first before buying it.
Also after I buy it, I will flash it with global ROM, test it for awhile, confirm ok, then switch over.
Hmm...I thought I am already on the global ROM -
MiUI version - MIUI Global 7.3 Stable 7.3.11.0 (0MBCCNDC)
That's what I see when I got to About Phone
This is vendor rom aka modified rom. Flash to official global rom if ur set is 32gb.

If I'm correct, that is a very old and outdated and unknown/unpublised China rom.
This is the latest China rom: Version: V7.5.6.0.MBCCNDE (MIUI7).
This is the latest Global rom: Version: V7.5.3.0.MBCMIDE (MIUI8). <---- This is the rom you should be using!

I downloaded this the rom from here ->

Downloaded this -> miui_MIMAXGlobal_V7.5.3.0.MBCMIDE_267a7c4439_6.0.zip
Then I just follow this instructions here? -> http://xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-install-miui-7/
Rename the file to update.zip, copy over to the root of Internal Storage, then follow the process on the website above??
Correct process before I start???
Do I need to unlock the bootloader??
1st time flashing a rom...last time only do rooting on Samsung phones...

Hold back!
You cannot use that method!
You cannot use Updater to update from a China rom to Global rom.
You will have to do a total wipe out method of using a Global Fastboot rom, and you must be prepared to set up your phone from ground zero again! However, it is just a one-time job and you will be happy forever!

Yes! That is quite a good and clear guide. Follow it carefully.
The bootloader doesn't has to be unlocked.

Simple steps...
1. Dl official global rom
2. Unzip it
3. Open miflash beta, select unzip rom parent folder, check "clean all"
4. Shutdown phone, then press vol+, vol- and power button at the same time. Phone will boot with vibrate and empty screen.
5. Connect phone to pc, wait for detect, then press refresh on miflash beta. Once detected press then flash button.
6. See screen and once ok, disconnect phone and restart
7. Wait for phone setup itself and voila, enjoy ur phone
