1. Dl official global rom *Done - hydrogen_global_images_V7.5.3.0.MBCMIDE_20160523.0000.23_6.0_global*

2. Unzip it *Done*

3. Open miflash beta, select unzip rom parent folder, check "clean all"

Question:
a. Select the main folder or the Image folder?
b. "Clean All"? No such option, but from the other website it's to select the "flash_all.bat" for the Fastboot Script option. Is this what you are refering?

Step 6 and 7 here:

Thanks!

You should use miflash beta(which has the clean all option) instead of miflash tools.

Hmm...I thought I am already on the global ROM -
MiUI version - MIUI Global 7.3 Stable 7.3.11.0 (0MBCCNDC)

That's what I see when I got to About Phone

Hi there. I've the same MiMax (32GB) as yours, also bought from Qoo10 yesterday and with the MIUI Global 7.3 Stable 7.3.11.0 ROM. Spent the entire night trying to figure out how to flash to global ROM via System/Recovery/Fastboot method but all failed.

Until I saw the post by rECKleSSfElla below and followed the steps to flash to the latest Global Beta ROM. Thank god for this thread! The actual flashing took less than 5 mins for me.

Great info/tip above. I'm now a proud new owner of the Mi Max running MIUI 8. :D

If you guys dont mind applying the glass sp yourselves, i have an extra set of full screen glass sp(gold edge) + soft tpu transparent case bought from taobao to let go. Price will just be slightly above cost as i have to factor in forwarding charges. Deal at serangoon mrt. If interested do drop me a pm.

link to the glass sp: https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=531825958585&toSite=main

tried the global ROM 7.5.3 ,stuck at bootloop upon restarting the phone.

I have sacrificed much of my sleep time on this. by trying the different versions of ROM.

anyway, I have tried looking for 7.3.11 .tpz but found only the recovery ROM.
went back to 7.3.14 china ROM, installed everything from the start.

at least I can set nova as default launcher on 7.3.1x
can't do that on 7.5.x

and I realized the default music Player is consuming over 150MB of RAM.
so I installed poweramp.

so yeah, on china ROM.

Urgh...failed at 58s with "Not enough storage is available to process this command. (0x80070008: Max buffer sector is 256)

Tried it twice. Made sure I did the "Disable driver signature enforcement" as well.

Some forums I found says to try to use another PC to do this?
My notebook is running Win7 Pro 64bit

Edit: Running it 3rd time....*fingers crossed*..passed 100s already
Update: Urgh...failed at 1500+seconds...same error

Any suggestions?

64gb and 128gb cpu is sd652.. So different ROM

Yep, cos I went to the MIUI forums and saw that they only have global ROM for 32gb model. So what's the best course of action to take if I get the 128gb model? Anyone here bought 64 or 128gb model? Pls advice.

India haven start selling 64/128gb variants so there wont be a global rom out for those variants until they are officially available in india. Best course of action is to wait, or buy now and flash to china stable rom.

Try flashing on a pc instead? If you got no acccess to a pc, then it will be tricky to pinpoint the problem.

First, redownload the miflash beta from another source. If you have a mi account, log on and download it from the miui eng forums
http://en.miui.com/thread-281979-1-1.html

Next, download the latest global rom fastboot version here(just released today, supposed to fix those wifi issues with india sets)
http://en.miui.com/thread-324576-1-1.html

Flash as per normal and see if the issue persists.

Otherwise, you can download and flash the miui 8 beta rom and see if that works for you.
