Okay, more poison...

Initially it feels too big and unstable to hold and operate with one hand. Then I bought a clear silicone case for it and suddenly this worry disappeared
1. the metal and glass phone is too slippery and cold to touch but adding the silicone case thickens the edges to add enough friction that the hold feels secure and safe now.

2. you know people are afraid of height and so they act funny when on a very high buiding ledge like those Charlie Chaplin movies 😱😱😱 but once you add a safety railing and even add a safety net below, suddenly they are not afraid to sing and dance even. That's what the silicone case does for the Mi Max, with the sureness of the friction grip, I dare to stretch out my thumb for those one hand scrolling and reading. With the added protection in case of falling, I feel so at ease using the phone now. My Note 3 fell so many times on hard flooring that I lost count already but each time the silicone case protected it very well. Sometimes I was so worried when it fell and bounce twice...toing...toing...so loud was the fall...yet luckily it survived...now for 3 years...

3. so...be not afraid of BIG...humans are born with uncanny abilities to adapt to use good tools.

Of course there are disadvantages. My biggest complaint now is that MIUI8 global takes too long to come out for my 128GB model. The China Rom MIUI7 that I'm using now is choked full of China oriented apps. I'm bilingual so I still keep them just to see what they are doing. So far it's mostly China oriented news and entertainment, could be relevant since our local TV has so much China made shows. But then these shows are too over the top and the officially mandatory patriotism feels like propaganda so I'm going to delete them when I get the Global ROM later.

I was a OnePlus guy (1,2 and 3) before getting 128gb Mi Max (wanted a larger screen + battery life).

This battery is no joke ... I just charge it once a day where as OnePlus 3, I charge it twice a day (and bring powerbank whenever I'm out for a day). So far, performance is acceptable. I got it with China ROM with Google Play already installed and it works fine (after initial issue where I had to delete data and cache of Google and reboot).

Even if I paid "extra" for 128gb model, it's still good price.

I travel to USA for personal/work so will keep my OnePlus 2 or 3 (as a backup) as I'm not sure if Mi Max will work well with USA 4G. Right now, I have Thai and SG 4g sim cards and they both work fine in respective location.
👍👍👍
agreed, I forgot to mention the huge battery. Time and time again I see Apple fans complaining in their forums that they'll rather have a bigger battery than a thinner phone. But on Apple side, it is their way or the highway; just pay up and shutup already 👿👿😡

The same complaints are also heard on Android side of course. But the beauty of competition is that where there's demand, there's supply. With cut throat competition, there are even a few options too. I evaluated the Samsung A9 Pro (brand loyalty to my Note3 LOL but 32GB is too small for my humongous data) and the other China phones all sneak in low end CPUs. Then I realised huge battery costs more money so they tried to hide the cost using low end CPUs to compensate for their profits.

Mi Max has the best features of the lot for me as explained in my previous post. The SD652 is more powerful than the SD800 in my Note3.

I was the few who used a improvised battery bank for the iPhone 4 before lithium ion became cheap enough to use for battery banks. My iPhone 4 could only last me half a day, by noon I would have to recharge again. That's the time when the new term "battery panic" became real 😱😱😱
When I started searching for a new phone, I made sure that it must have REMOVABLE battery. My Note3 came with extra battery and a free charger. I carry the extra battery in my key wallet because it's so thin and more portable than the bulky battery bank.
My phone can now last a whole day.

Alas, after 3 years of heavy use, those batteries are losing their charges. They are quick to charge and even quicker to discharge 😂😂😱😱. I estimate that there's only 30% capacity each left. I could easily get new batteries but after 3 years I think I deserve a new toy, hehe. But nowadays it is difficult to find a good phone with removable battery since the leader Samsung opted for good looks over that.

Anyway, since I gave away my Note1, I always felt uncomfortable without a backup phone. I'm the type that is totally dependent on my phone. I don't keep written phone book or paper notepad anymore. I can swipe type faster than most people so I keep everything in my phone. With pdf being standard to send through emails nowadays, I even keep my work documents in the phone. I'll even take snapshots of materials and works to send with the documents. So I must have a big phone with big battery since I use the phone so heavily and also must have a backup phone.

For now my Note3 is my backup phone till I get the Mi Max Global fully loaded with my data. I'm taking the opportunity now to mess around with the mostly empty Mi Max without fear of losing data.

Since that you just got the roti prata, just flash it to MIUI8 Beta now and wait for MIUI8 Stable!:s22:

Just forget about MIUI7....it still lags compared to MIUI8 Beta...:s22:

Don't waste time on MIUI7! :s8:
