I am also waiting for mi max 2. If mi max 2 has a better camera, then it is almost a perfect camera for me.

Just a quick question guys. Very interested to make the switch over due to the big screen and longer battery life than iPhone 6plus.

Does it make more sense to get a 32GB and add an inexpensive sc card to boost up the memory space, or pay slightly more for 64GB directly? It seems that option 1 seems cheaper but other than the additional RAM for the 64GB, anything else different? Also, does the additional 1GB or RAM makes a lot of difference? I'm looking to surf net and read news only. No intensive gaming intended.

My usage is the same as you, serve web, email, message and don't really play game. (using fly GPS to play Pokémon count or not) 32gb is more than enough. Buying 64 or 128gb and not using the extra capacity is waste of money. You may want to buy an SD card with the difference and the card will always stay with you.

Got mine from smart cell and it was running the global rom out of the box. Hope this helps!

Someone here had mentioned that it selling at Mustafa. Most probably india version, but you have to check.

For those who need external storage while using 2 SIM cards, but do not want to mod the microSD card onto the SIM card, can consider buying SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive. Default language is Chinese, but you can change to English in settings.

Google play store is not pre-installed. You have to do it manually, but it is easy.

Chinese rom has some of chinese bloatware pre-installed, which you can manually delete them.

Google Playstore works well only witg Global rom.

I don't store things in the jl phone's internal memory. Reason is that if the phone suddenly died, I just need to take out the microSD card will do.

Having said that, SD card hardly died suddenly..

Not that bad lah. Only once a while errors might pop up.

For me, stability is the most important as Google play store and it's related services is the main bone of making a solid Android phone bah...

settings>additional settings>backup and reset>local backup.
I love this feature. saves me so much time to start all over.

Anyway, it is always the best practice to backup your stuffs to cloud storage on a regular basic especially the newly added items.

All my new camera shots are backup to Google Drive manually so that if my phone died or SD card died, my latest photos are in the cloud. No need to bang my head against the wall.

thanks all for the advice. shall answer a few ppl at one go:

1) i cant get the seller. in fact i was v angry coz delivery took v long. tried to email and message no reply. got fone i think alredi v heng.
2) it was running on miui 7 and i updated to miui 8. i think should be china rom.
3) i followed all the instructions abt installing google, was able to install google play store. but when i click anything to install, then it just refuses to install and playstore hangs.
4) even tried the flashing method, but it stops because the software says "cannot read from port"

So i am quite bad at this, so need help. thanks a mil in advance!

1) Have you enable developer option?

2) Have you done this: Security Apps -> Permissions -> Setting Icon-> Off Install via USB.

Don't think so, many have successfully installed google play store on China rom.

If you are planning to get someone to repair, might as well get that someone to flash it to Global rom once and for all and no need to worry forever then
