anyone experience lag while playing Pokemon go? when I throw the Pokemon ball it will hang 2-5 seconds after that okay Liao. running 8.0.2.0 global ROM.

juz bought a 32G from Lazada, seller is smartcell. Need e experts to help in

1. my miui version is stated miui global 7.5/stable , 7.5.6.0 (MBCMIDE )
How do i update to latest version from my hp ?

2. can not connect wifi to m1 fibre plan. any set up needed ?

Dear all,

I have asked Starhub about VOLTE on Mi Max and this is their reply.

Hi, StarHub is not carrying Mi Max at the moment and Redmi Note 3 does not support VOLTE on StarHub network as of now. Thanks. - Lyn L.

Anybody using Mi Max on M1 or SingTel? When you are on voicecall, your data still shows 4G / LTE?

I thought that is normal? What was your previous phone? Did you encounter this also?

1. Just look under Settings, scroll all the way down to About Phone, there's a button at the bottom called System Updates.

Unless u know how to root or customized the phone without bricking the phone. Then go ahead and buy export version. I owned a China Redmi note 2 before and there are apps that only can update thru Mi store (just like a Google play store)

Since u r user who just mainly use for surf, call , point and shoot pictures. Get the local version.

1. Google Playstore and Google service needed to be installed. Quite a hassle as you cannot just download the apk and install it ( waste of 1hrs before you realize it doesn't work when adding google account fail, after factory reset a few times before giving up). You have to download an installer (1hrs to find and determine the correct choice...) created by someone on the miui forum, make sure that your computer have ADB support drivers ( an 1hr hassle of searching and making sure it work). Reasonably it should take around 3hrs to get Google Playstore working. And you will have more hours of fun adjusting permissions to figure out which are the necessary ones because miui does not play nice with google services.

2. When I am done with Google Playstore and Services, I finally got down to transfer music files from my PC to the phone. Another few hours of hassle getting usb file transfer to work because the phone decided I wasn't going to be in file transfer mode by default. Had to figure out how to change usb connection settings hidden deep in settings.

3. I realized I wasn't getting whatsapp notifications immediately. Whatsapp calls to me was not getting thru... Had to spend more hours figuring out I needed to change permissions, getting the app to autostart AND I had to figure out that I could lock the app in task manager zzz...

1. I bought my 32GB set from Qoo10. It's a China set but seller installed modified china rom with play store for me already. When I press updater, can't update though I know miui 8 already available. No biggie since I was able to install the apps I need straight away.

2. Bros here recommended flashing to official global rom so I did that after a week (was busy and waiting for my unlock approval from mi.)

Never flashed a single rom in my life but managed to get miui 8 global rom flashed successfully within 1 hour.

3. Just received 8.0.2 update ota and my WhatsApp notifications are working fine now. Notifications from other apps still don't show on lock screen but doesn't bother me. My expectations from 200+ phone very low. :s13:

thks bro.

encounter another issue - someone whom i made the first call, after gg through 1st time setting for this phone, told me that my voice was very soft like i was talking at a distance fr the phone. how to solve it ?

i read from past posts here that there was low sound issue on mi max . . . .

I still can't flash my 128GB set to global Rom. Seems like the seller Middle sky modified the China Rom till it's all messed up. But it's been very stable so far. Maybe that's the reason.

On my recent trip to HK/SZ, observed something interesting.

Went to Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen to look for additional covers for my Max. Almost all of the shops there do not carry Xiaomi case, mainly Samung and iPhone. I am surprise because Xiaomi is supposedly one of the top selling brand in China, so I expect many shops to be selling its hp accessories. The few shops that have Xiaomi cases only carry for Mi5 and Redmi Note 3. In the end, I managed to found one from the night market in Laojie.

Guess getting it online from Taobao is the better option.

Xiaomi is no more the top selling in China from this year. In fact the company run into lost in hand phone section. Think they are in 5th of China market now. Loss to Oppo and Huawi.
In SZ. You can go Xiaomi Home. ( HK too, you can get phone in global rom there).
