For the 3GB RAM version on global stable rom, after rooting, disabling some apps and hibernating "critical" Mi system apps, the best I can get is 1.8GB free ram after reboot. Better than the usual 1.3GB free with all the apps running by default.

Seems like MIUI quite bloated! On a Samsung Galaxy express, using this same method, I can get the jellybean rom to use just 330mb after reboot.

Hello all.. I am intending to get max to replace my samsung tab s 8.4. Probably getting from singtel for the 32gb.. any comments if I shld get from singtel or get from resellers here in sg?

So far after looking at this thread for a couple of weeks, it seems any problems could be solved and no major problems yes?

Appreciate the advises! Thanks in advance

Are you re-contracting with SingTel or just wanna buy a SingTel local set?

I used to think more free ram is good.

I don't think about it now. As long as feel faster than previous phone and don't reboot happy already.

Mine is 700MB free, after using for 2 weeks no reboot.

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT

I wonder: why don't reboot device?
And Max has built in schedule reboot function, why not use it?
This is a function I long for in my other devices. Fresh phone everyday! :s13:

I set mine to reboot daily in the wee hours. :D

hahaha... then my next question will be: why the concern on how much free ram / how much ram there is in the device?

If you see more free ram, then good news! Your device can work swiftly! Why bother to keep closing apps to free up ram?

OR: Why open so many apps that take up so much ram? It's a smartphone, how much can you stress it? Play multiple games at one go? :s22: :s13:

:s13:=:p...

I don't really bothered about ram (Remember that I was on 3/32 before 4/128)...

I just use the phone as it is. If I feel got lag a bit, just clear the Recent Apps and business resumed as usual lah! :s22:

Make it simple and happy Poong Pee Pee! :s22: :s13:

Does anybody bring their Mi Max to go on a run? If so, are you using a pouch or armband?

The OnePlus One armband already quite big. After get Mi Max then I dunno how to bring it while jogging. :s13:

Schedule reboot function only good if you do not set pin for sim. Otherwise, after reboot you have to enter pin to unlock phone.

Btw. With Miui, you really need to reboot at lease once a week.

Weight is not a problem. But size is.

aside from tweaking the CPU, another purpose of rooting the phone is to get rid the wakelocks, so that your phone can be sleeping soundly.

no wakelock equals to minimal battery drain when the phone is on standby doing nothing.

if all is good, your phone goes to sleep after seconds when the display goes off. hence the battery drain overnight can be 1% only.

otherwise, maybe 5%.

hi guys i got another enquiry...

i got problem with sync-ing my phone contacts through google contact sync. it stated that "sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly."

i search google and try some of the suggested solution like remove the google account and re-sync again but still could not get it to work...

under google play services, try to clear the cache or clear data or both.

worst case, backup your phone using the integrated mi backup (everything but the google components)and factory reset it.
