I am told there are 2 versions (India and China). India comes with pre installed playstore. Anyone can share what are the other differences? Wanted to get a set for my mum but better to have pre-installed playstore

Hardware is the same. Just one is China rom (no playstore). The other is global rom.

India sets are made in India and China sets are made in China.

India sets come with a 2 round pin charger and China sets come with a 2 flat pin charger.

India sets also have extra printing on the back at the bottom under the Mi logo. I find this ugly so I'd prefer to get a China set and then flash to Global rom myself.

Mine got too. Sometimes I need to reenable GPS using GPS (rather than wifi) and then even when working, trying to catch Pokemon can be very laggy like the ball opens but doesn't actually catch and then the Pokemon does the animations as normal with an open poke ball in corner.

im on 7314 but i still experience ads sometimes, maybe because i installed opera mini.
why go for eu ROM since you said 7314 ROM shows no problem?

Mine is India set. The printing under mi logo is a sticker which can be removed.

Mine is v7.3.15.0 MBDCNDE. I saw a link to download this ROM in MIUI forum. Will try Eu ROM after some days will wait for your feedback how the EU ROM performs.

No worry, just change to this rom if you want to. It's a proven rom anyway. It's base on china miui 8 beta as of now and without those china apps. Very clean and debloated rom. Playstore is default.

Only thing i complain is the smartcover mode, it just get off whenever i reboot the devices. Other than that, snappy and clean.

Hi all, just wanted to clarify a doubt between China set and India set. I have recently purchased a 32gb set from Smart Cell Mobile. I assumed I gotten a China set as the words on the box is in Mandarin. Upon switching on the phone, the rom in my phone is Global Stable Rom and also able to receive MIUI 8 upgrade OTA. Even after a factory reset, it remained as Global Stable Rom.

I remember it was also mentioned earlier on by one of the member that all the 32gb sets purchased from Smart Cell Mobile will come with Global Stable Rom, be it China or India Set. Hope this clarify some doubts. Cheers...

I called Smartcell and they told me they'd flash the phone to official global rom if it is a China set. For India, they don't flash as it is already on global rom.

Check with my friend. Also gotten from Smart Cell. All english words. However IMEI sticker on box and phone still print Made in China.

One clear different (from my China Redmi Note 2) is no sticker the scratch to verify true Xiaomi phone.

Anyway he is happy as no issue with Playstore. Unlike my China set with patched Playstore. It will get issue once a while till I finally gave up and flash to global rom.

Yes, pretty safe to purchase from Smartcell if u don't know how to flash. Too bad there's no official global rom for 64GB/128GB versions, else Smartcell would have brought them into SG.
