Getting the Mi Max, miui in that context...something different from the rest of launchers.

That's one of the reason beside cheap pricing.

You must somehow like MIUI else you will not buy and use it.

Is there default launcher? Hw to enable? Prefer something w app drawer.

Default launcher is the MIUI launcher right? (i.e. no app drawer). Debating if I want to invest in trying Nova or not as I'm mostly happy with my numerous desktop pages in MIUI.

Are you guys all using the MIUI launcher still or have you moved off to others?

I tried the Google Now launcher for a while and uninstalled it as it looked weird on such a big phone. I also have Nova launcher installed but I have not really used it. So far I am still using the MIUI launcher. It is pretty much an IOS copy with the additional advantage of supporting Android widgets which is quite cool. It is like getting the best of both worlds.

The only thing I miss is unread counters for WhatsApp. It does not work on the MIUI launcher.

WhatsApp counter works on miui and nova prime $1+. I can't take Miui large icons either.

I just checked, under spell checker, there's no option to turn it off

I googled it... seems like need to do this:

- turn on developer options
- turn on usb debugging
- on your PC downlolad and install minimal adb and fastboot ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 )
- connect your device via usb to your PC, wait 2 minutes until adb drivers have been installed
- run the installed adb link in your start menu, a cmd window opens op
- enter: adb shell
- enter: settings put secure spell_checker_enabled 0
- close cmd, disconnect phone, spell checking is disabled

or this

Just download Terminal Emulator from Play Store, open it, type su, grant root permission and type settings put secure spell_checker_enabled 0.

Use nova and set layout to 7x7. Feels like a bigger phone

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT
yup, mine 7x8 including dock, like Chinese newspaper.

Wah, power! Although I appreciate that every inch of the screen is utilized, too crowded for my own taste. Haha, I rather swipe. Reminds me too much of this:

I have some friends, their desktop like that, no problem... for me cannot. =:p
