This is my plan too.

I currently still locked contract with this 4G 3 plan even after corporate discount, I paid 35/mth only 3g data

The sim only upsized to 6g only 28(incl gst) something....and your are free man. Can Change phone anytime and change telco..

Need some advise from all the pros here. I have never use andriod phone b4. Intending to try using mi max for the big screen and battery life. Is there any difference if I buy from China? Will be going to china for business trip saw from their website they have 3 models compared to us one model only. And what is the difference from the global and China ROM? Any issues with using China ROM?

In term of specs, there should not be any differences buying from China or here. As for rom, you can always flash it to global stable rom. As for price, buying from Lazada maybe cheaper. But do check first.

Does that matter whether it is made in India or made in China?

Those at Lazada is considered export set? What type of rom is It? I see from China xiaomi website the top range is ¥1799 which is about $360

Depends which seller you go for. Lazada has many sellers.

1) xiaomi sg authorized seller: local set / global rom

2) other sellers: export set
--- China rom
--- China rom (modified)
--- Global rom (Shop flashed for you)

anyone having issues with 4G ?
mine is stuck at 3G no matter what i do, even if i force the network to LTE , its stuck at 3G with no data .
